Re: What's the time frames, and how about common ancestry
It was in darkness and covered with water. Inhabitable to water creatures only, maybe.
So you think that life existed before the sun existed?

Can you answer the question?

Re: What's the time frames, and how about common ancestry
But in Message 23 you said...
Therefore it had become an empty uninhabitable place. It was in darkness and covered with water. Inhabitable to water creatures only, maybe.
So the sun was created but it didn't shine? The sun was an empty something or other?
If there was no sun shining on earth, how did the water not freeze or sublimate into space? What was the source of energy to keep this from happening? Magic?

Re: Snatching Defeat from the jaws of Victory
Alan Guth says the universe began from nothing. Play A beginning from nothing, and a need for a beginning.
I think you are misinterpreting Alan Guth's views.
quote:
Alan Guth believes that the size of the entire universe is at least 1023 times bigger than the size of the observable universe. The universe also exists among countless other universes with various different laws of physics. A fractal pattern exists in the multiverse system, which involves universes inside vacuums that are inside other universes. Each pocket universe created by inflation will appear flat to the observers within it. Meanwhile, new universes will fill in the gaps created by older ones, similar to Hoyle’s discredited steady-state theory. The big bang of the universe is actually similar to cell division in biology, since new universes are continuously formed. However, inflation always wipes out the circumstances of the beginning of the particular universe.

You have to look at everything he says. Taking things out of context can be dangerous. Guth does believe that the universe came from something.

Re: Snatching Defeat from the jaws of Victory
I think he was misrepresenting his beliefs.
I was just going by his final answers to the questions.
So you are going to claim he doesnt believe what he says he believes? WOW.
So he needs prior universes or at least places where a vacuum can exist.
Then he doesn't believe it came from nothing. You say so yourself.
Then you have never read his paper on the zero energy inflationary universe.
Have you?

Hi Theo,
Theodoric writes:

No I am saying he is a hypocrite because he does not say what he believes. He says what the party line is while believing something entirely different.
Theodoric writes:

Just because I say he needs something does not mean he believes he need something.
Well that cinches it. I will not be debating you any more. You have shown a tendency to create your own reality in the past, but this is way over the top.
You make the claim that you know what someone truly believes even when it goes counter to what they actually say.
Debating with you is pointless. If a person claims the sky is blue, you will just say that it isn't true they meant the sky is red.
Have fun in your odd little world.
