Question #7
At any given moment, try clicking on All Topics for a list of current discussions. Take the top 20 topics and determine how many of them have something to do with evolution v. creationism. Quite often you will find that none of the top-20 topics have anything at all to do with EvC. The vast majority of them will be about religious nonsense. But I don't care about religious nonsense. I care about scientific nonsense. So my question #7 is: Why do the Admins promote so much religious nonsense when there is plenty of scientific nonsense to discuss? Maybe this forum should be renamed "GvU": God v. Unbelievers. IMO, the true believers are nothing but sacks of lead shot in our bright ballon of reason”the one still trying to get off the ground.

Re: Question #7
Yeah, its a sad fact which has been commented on before. The problem is that without a venue like the faith forums all the faith just spills over into the science threads, even more so than it does anyway.
Unfortunately a lot of the creationist members are much happier discussing faith issues than they are trying to make a scientific case for creationism, or even ID. The result is that a lot of the science threads are either call outs that never get taken up or effectively evolutionists discussing aspects of evolutionary science amongst themselves.

WK

Re: Question #7
because, despite the name of the forum, it's not about evolution and creation. it's about religion and non-religion (which evolution has nothing to do with). so. we discuss lots of topics related to that. if there isn't enough discussion on scientific topics, then start more.

Re: Question #7
hate intellectuals.
some poof-ball politician (the pres of the student body at fsu) just won a rhodes scholarship and he's all over the radio. i wanna stab him cause he goes off about how he thought it was for book worms and he's a "take action" kind of person. i'm sick of this contempt for education everywhere. it's simply a myth that academia has nothing to do with reality. a huge, blinding myth.

Re: Question #7
After gathering a body of reasonable people to confer, it was determined that the Admins should change their methodology for the promotion of threads from the Proposed New Topics forum. For science related threads, dowsing should be the preferred method while casting and reading the I Ching should be used for religious threads.

Obviously.
But nonsense knows no bounds, which is why we have members of a supposedly "scientific" bent who think some mystical hand is behind every chemical reaction.
Nonsense is nonsense. It makes no difference whether it dresses itself up in religious vestments or scientific lab coats. Maybe the place should be called Sense v. Nonsense (SvN).

Personally, I don't know why you haven't been banned for life yet. Anything beyond the original 4 questions is off topic. Where is AdminPD and her grumpy magic wand?

Owing to the deficiency of the English language, I have occasionally used the academic jargon generator to produce phrases that even I don't fully understand. The jargons are not meant to offend anyone or to insult anyone's intelligence!

Re: Question #7
Jar neglected the reading of entrails(of the loser), in the Mesopotamian tradition as opposed to Etruscan, for settling disputes of the great debated threads. It seems a fair and just means to address thread promotion. This clay liver mold on my desk isn't currently serving any great purpose.

Short-eared owls are medium sized owls with mottled brown bodies, pale under-wings and yellow eyes. They are commonly seen hunting during the day.

Yeah, they hunt during the day but at night they prowl for the ladies! And that's when Mod pounces having lured them in in his female owl disguise. It's grim up north.

No, not every one. Just the one's that need digital codes to kick-start their molecular engines.

Nonsense is nonsense whether it's universal or selective. It needs to be exposed whether it's religious nonsense or "scientific" nonsense. Some nonsensical minds lean towards science and some toward religion. That's why there's no real difference between the scientific threads and the religious ones.
