Hi Archaeologist,
This thread is for constructively bringing to the attention of moderators any problems with discussion or moderation that you might be having, but for the most is not for lengthy discussions.
If there is a specific problem that you would like to bring to the attention of moderators then please briefly describe the problem and post a link.

Hi Archy
Hi Archy,
Grandma whats-her-name only quotes 1/2 of what i wrote then attacked me for it and did not even try to address the whole issue but just wanted to get a personal attack in.
I presume that means me.
If you have an issue with anything I've written, please feel free to take it up with me by answering that specific message. If you feel that you have been quote-mined or otherwise misrepresented, I'll see what I can do to address that. Apart from anything else, I'm mildly curious to know which post you're talking about.
But if you don't reply, I won't know what you're talking about.

The suspension is not going to happen, at least not yet. But I think your little forum rule 10 violations against Rrhain need to stop.

Time for you to step up, Moose.

Done, but...
Your reply to the offending message also left a lot to be desired. And some of your content/style does invite undesirable counter-comment (or something like that).
I personally tend to think of your messages as lawyer like - Accurate, precisely worded, and difficult to follow/understand (or something like that).
NO REPLIES TO THIS MESSAGE.
You can get surly with Minnemooseus, but you're not going to out-cranky Adminnemooseus (or something like that).

I acknowledged that what I said wasn't as funny as it could have been.
See:
quote:
I promise to be funnier though. My bad.
Not about the word "fag," which again, does NOT only refer to homosexuals, as you keep suggesting it does.
I have explained this, provided enough definitions to support it, Modulous, another admin, also explained it you, so I feel I have done enough to establish the word as having multiple definitions.
So I wasn't gay baiting. In fact, I did nothing wrong.
But I accept the admin's decision, I just don't respect your whining.

Hey, Hyro...long time no battles.
Rrhain is right.
Onifre is funny--seriously funny; his gay-baiting isn't. I know Rrhain isn't trying to win any popularity contests, but that doesn't make him unique here.
Onifre's heckler analogy is flawed: this isn't his room, and Rrhain isn't an audience. Both onifre and Rrhain are here on equal terms, terms defined in the forum rules.
Why do you despise people who stand up for their rights so much? Are you really that hateful?

Re: Rights hater

Hi Omnivorous,
I really, truly, am NOT gay-baiting. In anyway. I may have, admittedly, jumped on Rrhain's (questionable) sensitivity in the use of words like "gay" or "fag," which again, do NOT mean homosexual - I can't stress that enough - it has nothing to do with homosexuality. I say questionable, because for a liberal like him, who admits to watching shows like South Park, the Daily Show or Colbert, to pretend to not know these uses of the terms smells of bullshit.
It has become a word like any other that used to have one meaning but has now changed, and I've explained this to him, so have others, including an admin. I have posted links to the definiton, videos to it being used the way I was using it, etc.
To continue to accuse me of gay-baiting is to completely ignore these facts.
Onifre's heckler analogy is flawed: this isn't his room, and Rrhain isn't an audience.
Fair enough, but I wonder how you think I mean the analogy? Straggler said our arguments are sometimes funny. I figured he meant, the bashing Rrhain and I give each other. What I meant by my analogy is, often, that bashing is humorous at first, but ends up not being that amusing as time goes by and it gets too personal.
Don't let Rrhain fool you with his whining, he knows he's as much at fault for instigating as I am. He just complained first, so here we are. He's a condescending prick in any debate, this is a fact.
However, I apologies if I broke a forum rule - I respect the admins decisions - but certainly not to Rrhain, who can't have a debate in which he doesn't eventually take his usual condescending tone.
Why do you despise people who stand up for their rights so much?
Rrhain is just whining to the admins, not defending his rights.

Discussion About Definitions of Fag
I haven't been following what led up to this. While I disapprove of baiting (fag or otherwise), I also object to a "more sensitive than thou" attitude. Plus humor can be incredibly context dependent once you leave the mainstream stuff you see on TV, and even there you can see comedians walking the fine line - I've seen Kathy Griffin tell plenty of jokes at gays expense, just ask Ryan Seacrest, who apparently has a sense of humor since Griffin's been on his radio program.
Just for the record, gays are fine by me. Of course, I don't want my daughter marrying one...
Anyway, whatever the facts of the matter, could I ask that everyone start with the assumption that there were no ill intentions involved, and could you guys take this discussion to a Coffee House thread? Thanks!

Hey, Hyro...long time no battles.
Indeed! Glad you're back.
Onifre is funny--seriously funny; his gay-baiting isn't.
Onifre is the least homophobic person you will ever meet. The word "gay" has taken on many meanings. And when he says it, he means it in the new vernacular of ghey, which roughly translates to "lame."
Why do you despise people who stand up for their rights so much? Are you really that hateful?
Here's the critical difference: Rrhain went off and tattled to Moose, requesting censorship. Instead of handling it like a champ, with non-violent protest and discourse at the lowest level (the source of the problem), he chooses instead to tattle like a petulant child.
And quite frankly, that's ghey...
