We have seen a number of threads looking at the claims surrounds The Exodus Revealed Video collapse because neither side has been able to stick to the point. I therefore propose the following 2 on 2 debate:
2 supporters of the claims made by Ron Wyatt as relating to the exodus are to submit a piece of evidence for debate using the following format:
EVIDENCE ITEM 1: What is it?
1)WHICH LAB CONDUCTED INDEPENDENT VERIFICATION?
2)WHEN WAS THIS CONDUCTED?
3)WHAT TESTS WERE PERFORMED?
4)WHAT WERE THE RESULTS OF 3?
5) WHERE IS THE DOCUMENTATION AROUND THE VERIFICATION PROCESS? AVAILABLE?
Note we are not discussing any of the following:

Ron Wyatt as a person — the fact that he may well be brave, clever, dedicated have no bearing on the material evidence.
The actual video itself — this is a debate about the veracity of evidence, not a video about the evidence
Any other claims of Ron Wyatt — those are not relevant to the matter at hand.
In terms of posting, this is by strict rotation: I post this first message (as above), a supporter then proposes some evidence using the format above. the other supporter can then post a supporting message. I or yaro then post a rebuttal.followed by a supporting post by Yaro/myself. the two supporters then post again. This order then repeats.

I feel that those questions are the sort that we should ask of any evidence, I welcome comments to make the debate as fair and as open as possible.
I would have liked one to be Lysimachus but for some strange reason, he feels unable to meet such strict requirements in terms of evidence.
Is there anyone else who would like to step upto the plate? I am willing to change it to one on one if needed.

Hi Charles. I'd rather see the 42 good pages of my original thread reopened and go from there with strict admin oversight so as to keep on topic.
This would prevent so much repititious posting and would keep the thread forward for reference.

The thread would still be open for reference - look what happened to the follow-up thread that I posted, it decended into nonsense within 3 pages!
Look at your own thread, the last ten pages were mostly shouting.

Most of the 16 lost pages were not shouting. There was a lot of work, thought and time put into the important information from both camps in these pages, including many photos. Yes, there were some out of order posts, but that happens in other volitile threads as well.

The thread would still be open for reference
But there's nothing to keep it forward and handy for reference and referral. Why do you object to reopening the good pages, Charles?

added - strangely the other side seems short of people - strange considering all of the evidence they had......
EDIT: However people leave busy lifes and I'm sure someone will step up in the next few days.

Uh.... please give them time before you make such judgement. Not everyone is on here 24 hours a day, you know
Somehow, I have a feeling the adminmoose will suspend me for posting this... I'm a little scared.

Just to let potential participants know...the old thread will not be reopened even if Percy recovers the lost data. It was just too large. The thread can be linked to in the OP and this wouldn't make it any more difficult to find information than if it continued in the original thread.

Funny, very funny. Odd that this is a resort of one side much more than the other.

Re: LOL
Ned,
I don't think it's odd. I am seeing the situation it grows out of and am trying to get a better understanding of it. Preachers, pastors, evangelists, missionaries use forms of rhetorical persuassion that are aimed at motivating people to embrace a belief. The techniques they use are similiar to marketing and sales technigue. I see that most of the creationist don't seem to have a good grasp on how science is done. They are used to rhetorical debates and very loose evidence. And they just are poorly prepared to deal with scientific arguments. I think they barely understand what is involved.
My interest in this is that it seems like a growing gulf of two cultures or mind sets. I think this forum is a good meeting place and yet I don't really know if a reconciliation is possible or desirable.
This exodus thread has been a rich though at times frustrating learning experience for me.
lfen

Ah it's my attitude - strange that considering I wanted to discuss evidence.
I find it odd that no-one has stepped up to the plate. This thread would be ideal for showing us all the evidence around the exodus without wandering off into side-topics, rhetorical debate or abuse.
The evidence would speak for itself, me being "sour" would be neither here or there.
Another supporter claims to have "masses" of evidence - yet he was unable to answer the questions in the first "open" thread I started on this and is unwilling to raise to the challenge here.
whatever could it mean?
