Thread icon suggestions
Right now:
-"new messages" is the addition of a tiny paper in the folder. (low visibility = low importance)
-"popular thread" changes the colour of the whole folder from yellow to red (high visibility = high importance)
Personally, I find "new messages" to be a higher-priority-to-know-about than "popularity", although both are nice-to-know.
I would suggest changing the priority to this:
-"new messages" changes the colour of the whole folder from yellow to red (high visibility = high importance)
-"popular thread" adds a blue "+" sign to the centre of the folder (whether red or yellow).
-get rid of the little-paper-thing all together, it's just too small to add any significant visual difference
-the locked folders are nice, keep them and hopefully add the CLOSED CLOSED CLOSED when possible
Individually, this means:
Thread is open and has no recent unread messages.
-Currently: a yellow folder
-Suggestion: a yellow folder
Thread is open and has recent unread messages.
-Currently: a yellow folder with tiny red paper thing
-Suggestion: a red folder
Thread is open and very active, but has no unread messages.
-Currently: a red folder
-Suggestion: a yellow folder with a blue "+" sign in the centre of it.
Thread is open, very active, and has unread messages.
-Currently: a red folder with tiny red paper thing
-Suggestion: a red folder with a blue "+" sign in the centre of it.
I'm not very good at actual icon creation either. But I should be able to edit the icons you have into the ones I've described above if the suggestion is of any use. Let me know.
I also suggest removing the larger roman-building-type icons from the forum list and replace them with similar, smaller folder-type icons. I personally find those larger roman-buildings to be just a bit too distracting/busy.
In other words, congratulations on the big move! And welcome to all the whiny needs and desires! Whoo!!
Overall, I find the additions to dBoard 3.0 be more helpful then the losses. Especially if you plan on re-implementing most of those nice-to-have losses anyway. A lot of these comments remind me of the words of Stewie Griffin as the house is torn apart: "I don't like change..."

Stile, I don't think your suggestions are cryptic enough. You might want to use the Enigma.

EvC Forum: Peanut Gallery
Right now on the All Topics page the top two threads on my list are Peanut Gallery and Charismatic Chaos.
Both the last reply links go to the Peanut Gallery thread one to message 89 and one to message 90.
If I click on the thread title itself I go to the correct thread.

Make that a double.
Are you able to post in the Charismatic Chaos thread ?
I'm unable to respond to that thread due to errors.
ABE: I take that back ...

Thanks for the Bug Reports and Feedback
I'm not going to be able to fix the bugs tonight. I'll start in on them early tomorrow morning, and please continue reporting any new problems you find. I apologize for not wringing these problems out over at the test board, but hopefully they're not showstoppers.

Thread Link Bug
When you use the [tid=] code (for linking to other threads), "Thread Name Not Available" is displayed instead of the name of the thread.
Here is an example from the Peanut Gallery.
(It seems to work where I used it---"Peanut Gallery" in this post---so maybe it just isn't working with older threads)

Re: Thanks for the Bug Reports and Feedback
There was an incorrect database entry. I'll have to keep my eye on this one. Anyone who notices when the "Last Reply" column is in error, please post a note here. I don't have enough info to find the bug yet, but it should become more clear after I see this a couple more times.

Re: Thread Link Bug
This problem occurs only 11,398 times in the database.
It's a database translation problem and easy to fix, I should be able to get this done this morning.

problems with reply's
apart from noone agreeing with me, i tried to reply to a thread and couldnt. I kept getting this strange msg on a white page...
'Query error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '____ already both called cannot century christ christianity didn didnt distinct' at line 1.
Query string: replace into evcMessages set MID=514693, TID=8762, MBRID=7886, AuthorName='Peg', ReplyToMID=514669, ReplyToMBRID=4479, ResponseStatus=0, Mood=1, IP='124.191.17.224', Title='', MsgNum=237, Time=1247308346, Rating=0, MessageText='every verse of that scripture indicates two, not one.
__two__ verse verses', Deleted=0, ParentMID=0'
Very strange. Also, the only way to get back to evc from this page was to hit the back button.
I tried a general reply, but i got the same msg. The thread was Divinity of Christ on page 16 in response to John10:10's post.

Re: problems with reply's
Hi Peg,
Thank you for reporting this, this looks like very valuable information. I'm hoping it's the missing piece of the puzzle to the problem that Huntard reported in Message 38.
Unfortunately it looks like a key piece of information might be missing. After the "MessageText=" portion there should have been a "WordList=" portion, and it's not there. Can you get back to that page and see if you can find that portion? Or can you make it happen again. Then post that information here. It's not critical, but it could be very helpful. Thanks very much for your help!
Everyone: If you see a "Query error" message, please report it here and include a cut-n-paste of both the "Query error" and the "Query string" that appears after it. Thanks!

Re: problems with reply's
Hi Peg,
I think it may have been something in the text of your message that I'm not handling properly that is causing the problem. Can you remember anything that isn't that common that it might have had? Maybe a special character? Did you cut-n-paste text from somewhere else that might have had special characters or symbols? If you have still have the text of your message or can reconstruct it, please email it to Admin (admin@evcforum.net). Thanks!
Edited by Admin, : Clarification.
