such as Jason Chin is their total inability to read or understand what is presented to them. It appears that they really cannot understand that the issue is their behavior not their beliefs. This is true of WILLOWTREE, Ken, Jason, JAD, and several others.
A good example is the short exchange between myself and Jason where I said I was upset that those who profess to be Christians could not follow the rules. Jason's response was a long attack that had nothing to do with what I said.
I had stated, "As a Christian, it really bothers me to see other alleged Christians that are so totally incapable of following rules. If that is typical Christian behaviour no wonder atheists think so little of us." If anyone examines those two sentences I believe they will see that they only speak of behaviour.
Jason responded by saying:
I refuse to allow my Christianity to be questioned by a man who the vast majority of Christians wouldn't even regard as a Christian......I'm not a Christian because I don't follow the rules of a site designed to promote atheistic propoganda? But, on the contrary, you who are quite clearly ashamed of your faith (if you even have any faith) is the type of man who Jesus had in mind when he said "they were faithful unto death, and I have given them a crown of life." I would spit in your face, and the face of any man who would insult me in such a fashion (much less a man like yourself), if you were present.
That shows clearly that
- either he did not read what I wrote.
- or he is incable of understanding what I wrote.
He then went on to make judgements about my beliefs (which is fine. I have never much worried about what others think of my beliefs), and into a personal attack against me. Such behaviour is never warranted and certainly does far more harm to the cause of Christianity than the theory of evolution or atheism ever could.
Some people simply do not behave in a civilized manner. It does not matter whether it is the Taliban, Al Quida, Sendero Luminoso or other fundamentalist groups, intolerance is intolerance, bigotry is bigotry, improper behaviour is improper behaviour.
It's sad.
