For continuous failure to answer direct questions posted to him, even after direct moderator request, Ken has been suspended until Friday Sept 10th.

I only followed the links and found I was unable to figure out what Ken wasn't answering from just the messages explicitly referred to. That doesn't mean I couldn't have figured it out if I read the threads, but just wanted you to know that this by itself wasn't enough. Don't provide more information for my sake, but I just wanted you to know that if your intention was to make it clear why Ken was suspended that I don't think this is enough.

Ken now permitted to edit
There has been recent massive discussion in various topics, of things kendemyer.
Ken's editing privileges had been taken away for good reason. In the framework of recent happenings, however, I don't see how his having editing privileges could hurt things, and it just might help.
Translation - IMO Ken's messages have been so bad that any editing at any time could only help. That said - Ken, it would be nice if you would do quality messages the first attempt, and not get "edit happy".
Ken's current posting privilege status summary:
Restricted to "Boot Camp", "Suggestions and Questions", and "Proposed New Topics". The "PNT", however, is moot since Ken is not allowed to start new topics.

Re: Ken now permitted to edit (NOW IF HE WOULD ONLY...)
...USE THE MESSAGE SPECIFIC REPLY BUTTON!!!
Ken, use the reply button at the bottom of the message you are replying to.
I am inclined to think that further failure on your part to do such is cause to deem you an idiot that should be suspended.
I know you can't here reply to this message. No need to reply anyway.
JUST USE THE MESSAGE SPECIFIC REPLY BUTTON, WHEN YOU ARE REPLYING TO A SPECIFIC MESSAGE!
Now getting into the cranky mode,

Bump etc. - Ken now has topic proposing privileges
I've now also expanded Ken's privileges to include starting new topics. Any such must be processed through the Proposed New Topics forum.
Ken - You better use your topic starting privileges very carefully. Flood the "PNT" (and I mean more than 2) and you will be suspended. So choose you "PNT"'s carefully. Remember, "PNT" topics are reviewed prior to release, so you better do reasonable quality message 1's, or they will never go further than the "PNT".
Since you seem to love to post long lists of links, I suggest you propose a topic aimed at the "Links and Information" forum. I guess if you do such, your posting privileges could also be expanded to include that forum, so you could add to you listings. Suggested title - "Ken DeMyer's lists of links".
Don't intreprete these various expansions of your privileges as being that the admins are caving in to your demands. Rather, IMO, these expansions are set ups to permit you a last chance to make a showing that you're worth having around. Post quality on-topic messages.
At the moment, you continue to ride the razors edge between non-suspension and suspension.
Don't whine to me or any of the other admins. It will not help your cause.
Adminnemooseus
ps: Remember to use that message specific reply button.

Ken given a short term suspension (reply button impaired)
quote:
USE THE MESSAGE SPECIFIC REPLY BUTTON, WHEN YOU ARE REPLYING TO A SPECIFIC MESSAGE!
Acknowledged requests are not having any real effect.
Ken is short term suspended to give him some time to think "I will use the specific message reply button, when replying to a specific messages".
I will be away from my computer for at least 8 hours. Other admins are welcome to lift Ken's suspension if and when they feel it is proper. If and when restored, all three of the options should be checked "yes".

Advocates for Ken Unite!
I'll be lobbying the other moderators against ever restoring Ken's posting permissions. Normally I'm a pushover for those wanting to return, but Ken demands too much moderator attention.
Those who would like to see Ken return should post replies here. Please include suggestions for how to reduce Ken's demands upon moderator's time.

Actually, I think the only threads we forbid member replies in are those with "{MESSAGES BY ADMIN ONLY)" in the titles.
I think this is the prefered topic for any comments regarding Ken's suspension.

Perhaps a creo admin would be able to do more with Ken.

Re: Advocates for Ken Unite!
I think Ken showed ample evidence that he is unwilling to work within the system.
It seems he thought we were privileged to have his presence, and that he should be able to do anything he wanted, in any forum.
Sad to say, but I think a fair bit of the various admins tolerances towards Ken was that, in his own twisted way, he was entertaining. But still highly disruptive to real debate/discussion.
For Ken to exist here, we would need a special branch to the "Boot Camp" - Not that it's going to happen, but I was thinking "Twilight Zone" forum. Or maybe the "Entertainment Zone".

Re: Advocates for Ken Unite!
How about giving Ken his own thread that he is free to do with as he wants? But only in that thread. He is incapable of staying on topic anyway so in that one thread he could wander where he would (which he does anyway) and those who wanted to "have fun" with him could visit there but he couldn't litter other threads? Kind of keep him in the Ken Zone?

The Scarlett Kenkernel"
Ken's posts are normally entertaining but when he posts a batch of them it can be a nightmare.
I think he is getting a bit of a reputation across the Net for beginning topics and then disappearing for months without defending them.
Did anyone else notice that some of the links that Ken provided were to forums where he had started a thread off and hardly anyone replied? In fact, the archaeology topic he had started at another site did not even get a single response!
If Ken cannot even survive in Boot Camp then there really isnt anywhere for him to go, except Patriot University.
I can tolerate Ken easier than I can tolerate many others of his ilk.
Brian.

Re: The Scarlett Kenkernel"
Brian,
I do find Ken and Davidjay entertaining.
What do you think of my idea of just giving him a thread of his own. He wouldn't be allowed to muck up any other threads but he could have one thread that folks who chose could visit. I'd love to see him and Davidjay discuss stuff that would be like entertainment squared I think to get down and mathmatical with this.
