I haven't seen anyone except myself using the new UBB codes, so I thought I'd mention them one more time.
Two new UBB codes are available.
First is the shaded quote: [QS] and [/QS]. For example:
This is a shaded quote. You can actually nest shaded quotes, two shades alternate. You close a shaded quote with [/QS].
You can also mention the person you're replying to, eg, [QS=Percipient] would produce this:
Percipient writes:
This is a shaded quote with the reply name.
This is a demonstration of nested shaded quotes, two shades alternate.
There is also a new indentation code:
and
. For example:
This is an indented region. Note that the boundaries of the indentation are equidistant from the margins, but that the indentation is much less than the HTML
.
With the new parsing code, new UBB codes are now easy to add, so if anyone has some good ideas for new UBB codes just append to this thread or send email to EvC Forum Administrator.
Which reminds me, there's also an enhancement to the existing code - it can now take an argument. For example, the above email link was produced by EvC Forum Administrator.

Personally, I prefer the old quote style, but then, I'm someone who uses gray as a background on all the pages of my personal website.
Admin - You need to get the new UBB code information onto the UBB code help page. Maybe it would be best if the new stuff got its own little section.

No sooner said than done - check it out:
