Re: Why AdminRandman?
It very much satisfies my sense of symmetry to be assured that there are those occupying the outer regions of the bell curve on both sides.

Re: Why AdminRandman?
Hey, what is that suppose to mean? The third sentence was a joke.
ABE
And I've been wondering, what's going on with camone's message there?

A policy of engagement of Nixon-esque proportions, perhaps.

Hard to agree with this one
I very, very much wonder about the logic behind this. I can completely understand wanting creationist mods, but this is the worst possible choice and I don't think it takes a very deep dip into his post history to figure out why.
Randman, I apologize if this comes across as an attack, but it's my honest opinion and I wanted to voice it.

I welcome randman
At first I was skeptical, but I think this will do randman good.
I think he recognizes the responsability involved with being a mod and now he has no excuse to cite moderator bias as a problem. I think randman will now have to read, understand, and evaluate alot more than he had to before.
If randman takes the job seriously, he will be all the better for it.

Re: I welcome randman
It may be well and good for Randman in the end, but is the betterment of a poster a good reason to make someone a mod? It seems to me that you should only make people mods who you think will do well at it, and who show the ability to themselves stay within the rules. Randman does not show that ability.
I mean, what does it tell someone reading the board when they read some of randmans posts, and then see that he's a MOD? Is that the kind of example we want?
But, I'm not the admin here, so what I consider valid reasons to make someone a mod are irrelevant. That is, however, my opinion.

It is obvious
The upsetting thing is, the ulterior motive is so transparent.
Percy wants a moronic imbecile creationist admin so that when the next moronic imbecile of a creationist complains of bias then we can say "how can we be biased when we have a moronic ibecile creationist admin?"
And Randman is such a clown he cannot see through it, Gzus even Faith worked it out.
Randman has had at least 30 warnings from admins, he has been banned at least ten times, it is a joke.
I nominated Willowtree as an admin about a year ago and I was over ruled because he 'took up too much admin time!!" he hasn't taken a fraction of the time that Randman has.
We all know that Randman is a joke, it is quickly becoming an embarrassment to be a member of EvC. What was once THE top discussion board on the Net is rapidly becoming a Kent Hovind thesis.
Brian.

Re: It is obvious
Actually, no. I don't think that's the ulterior motive at all. I think percy and the rest of the EvC ruling class just want randman to improve his reading comprehension skill by putting some responsibility on his table.
I can't remember the last time when randman actually answered every point without trying to dodge the questions or focus on some tiny little thing (nitpicking) such that by about 3 pages later the main points have been lost. By making him an admin (giving him some responsibility), we are forcing him to actually address the important points that are brought up, not just hand wave them aside.
The other advantage of making him an admin is we are taking away his life boat everytime there's a big wave rocking his ship. After this, he can't fall back to the same old admin/evilutionist bias crap again.
I really think this was the goal for faith as well. No matter what she said, I am still convinced that she realized ahead of time how her lifeboat was going to be taken away and that's why she quit the game while being "ahead".
Anyway, I always love to read what people have to say about things, especially when there are at least 2 opposing sides. We'll just have to wait and see where this is going.

Re: It is obvious
What do you mean?
I have had my share with conversing with Faith. I was quite surprised when she was nominated and requested to be an admin. The lifeboat or safety net concept only came to me long after she was gone.
