Why there is such strong support, for two or three members to post messages in such a fundamentally bad writing style, is a mystery to me.
The overall signs of the times are that it is time to bow out. The administration efforts have been chewing up too much time and too much of my limited intellectual abilities.
I had been trying to negotiate the return of Contracycle. I think he has much to offer this forum. Now, in the tradition of departing Presidents, I have fully restored Contracycle's membership privileges. I am also sending him an e-mail informing him of my action. If Contracycle returns, I hope it works out better than in the past - Time will tell.
I have also granted the non-admin mode, minnemooseus, read only access to the "Private Administration Forum".
The Adminnemooseus and minnemooseus ID's have been unlinked. Shortly after this message is posted, the Adminnemooseus member status will be changed from "Director" to "Member" and all post privileges for the Adminnemooseus account will be suspended.

Nooooooooooo!
I hope that you can return sometime. Even if you don't have much time a bit of your good advice is always needed.
Thanks for all the efforts over the years and helping to get us to where we are today.

Jeeze Moose. I wasn't trying to piss you off that badly. No need to resign. I do understand the time-consumption issue. But you've been a darned good moderator: very fair and impartial.

That's a great shame. You've done a damn good job given all of the nonsense which comes up on these boards time and again. I hope you find a productive use for all of your suddenly free time.
TTFN,
WK

I hope you will reconsider Moose.
I don't think anyone really appreciates how demanding a position like yours can be on your time and energy. It wasn't until I tried moderating that I fully appreciated it, and you worked a lot harder than I ever did.
It would be extremely sad to see you go, I hope that you do reconsider.
Brian.

The End of an Era
I heard the news today. Oh boy.
I'm sure I speak for everyone at EvC Forum when I offer our sincere thanks to Moose for all the valuable contributions he's made over the years. Nearly every EvC Forum moderator is here because of Moose. The high quality of this board is due in large part to Moose. I know we all hope he returns to us soon, but until that day we must vow to carry on the high standards and traditions he has imbued here. Best wishes!

Re: The End of an Era
This forum won't look the same without a pinhead. Perhaps one of the other admins can put on the pinhead avatar to make people here feel more at home?

Thanks, Moose!
Thank you Moose. Enjoy a well earned rest. In my line of work burnout is a well known inevitablity. A long break can refresh, revive, and restore one's spirit. Sometimes it's not till you are a ways into the break that you even realize how much of a load you had been carrying.
Though we disagree on capitalization I respect the job you've done here,
lfen

More from minnemooseus now ?
As others have said, thanks for all your time and efforts as Adminnemooseus - even on the issues where I thought you were wrong
I hope some of this extra free time you're going to have is used for the mighty minnemooseus to make more contributions than you've been able in recent times.

Re: Thanks, Moose!
Did you mean, lack of capitalization? Mr Moose was perfectly correct to bring me into situating his admin position. I am not an administrator but it occurs to me that by observing posting behavior it is possible to notice how the whole board can be uplifted as a whole and thus forcing/requiring me say to write my posts into Microsoft Word rather than Wordpad and also to drop using caps in nonstandard ways as part of an agreed apon move by the current regulars is timely.
I have used caps only because I was still transitioning from the nonelectronic typewriter not for any reason of "channeling". There is an "extra" motion required to do the more sophisticated types and if it is more the creationist who has to worry about random web bots tracking wordy posts these crawlers can easily be thrown off route with caps topping any other font change. It IS a lot easier to so use caps'' rather than bolds, underlines, fonts, and italics but I am comfortable enough to so proceed with some visual changes but I do enjoy throwing in the form of a letteror two in an inappropriate place from time to time. I would rather see the board as a whole achieve some conclusions than have my own preferences singularly upheld however.
I was suprised that members just did not respond to Moose's request but that has been my experience here as well.

We're going to miss you more than even we realise just now. I'm very sorry to see you go, you were a voice of reason on a board of (occasional) insanity!

Don't resign get Re-assigned!
I'll be sad to see you go - you were pretty good for telling me how crap some of posts were (and they were! :0).
I hope you took my comment on the style sheet thread as it was intended, you can't keep doing what you are doing without a little burn-out. Take a break and then comeback and kick some ass!
Instead of totally resigning as a mod - can't you become an "advisor"? In that capacity, you could still comment in the private forum and offer your valuable advice to up and coming mods as you see fit?
That means you don't have to put up with the crap out here but the board still retains your experience.

Hi Moose. I hope you're still "Moose" (Minnemooseus) as a posting member. Your wisdom in most matters as administrator were unsurpassed imo. Percy will miss you as you were the no nonsense efficient one whose hands he could leave the board whether he was present or absent and be at peace that things would be administered smoothly. God bless!
