BTW - This was probably before your time, but during the late 60's-70's there was a lot of buzz about California breaking off and sliding into the Pacfic from all the earthquakes. A few enterprising real estate brokers advertised arid land on the Western border of Nevada as the "New Pacific coastline" and actually got buyers. P.T. Barnum would have been proud.
