Re: Kms perhaps?
Well us clumsy old Brits still use MPH on the roads with a confusing mixture of metric and Imperial units for weights and measures. Beer in 20oz. Pints but spirits in millilitres, however most things sold by weight or volume have to be in metric units. Milk is often sold in mulitples of a pint but they have to be sold as being x litres. For example in my fridge at the moment is a 2 pint milk carton but it is marked as being 1.136 litre.
Ireland was using MPH until last month when they changed to KPH.

Confused ? You will be...

Re: Kms perhaps?
Amazing, you started a decade ahead of us and we are much further along. All signs (except near the border) are metric. My car has only metric readings. All locally package things are metric (milk is in 1, 2 or 4 l containers exactly).
Weighed foods like meat are still labeled in both (in most places) but small portion things like fancy chocolate is always in 100 g units.
A few temperature signs have both but I have to stop and think as to whether I'm cold or not if I see fahrenheit signs.

Re: Kms perhaps?
How could a nation that gave us the Metric System and Brigitte Bardo also have designed the Citroen DS or the Deaux Chevaux?

SPEED LIMIT
ENFORCED BY
AIRCRAFT
That sign just really bugs me. When I started driving I used to envision WWII Focker Tri-planes doing strafing runs down the hiway.
