So...
is it your opinion that no Muslim can be trusted, or what?

Re: The Good Ones
There is and never was anything illegal about the Israeli occupation of Israel.
I would start an argument about the creation of Israel, but it would be long and this certainly isn't the thread.
My main point was that it doesn't take a faith in Islam to dislike the state of Israel, or more specifically all the policies and persecutions that have been made in its name against the Palestinian people.
And what that guy said was not that radical or extreme. So people should divest (aka boycott). That's not so bad.

Huckabee or not to be
1. He thinks that scientists believe the earth is "six billion" years old. He also thinks we "just don't know" how old the earth is.
2. He covered up an incident where his son tortured & hanged a stray dog.
3. He lied about having a theology degree.
4. He claims ””The Holy Bible . . . has truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy.’’
5. In 1992, he wanted to quarantine people with AIDS, even though it was well-known then that AIDS could not be spread by casual contact.
6. He improperly claimed furniture given to the governor's office as a personal gift and then didn't list it on an inventory of office items.
7. He freed criminals who committed heinous offenses if they said they had become born-again.
8. He wants a regressive national sales tax in place of a progressive income tax.
9. In 1998, he signed a statement saying that "A wife is to submit graciously to the servant leadership of her husband".
10. He doesn't accept the theory of evolution.

Recursivity: Ten Reasons Not to Vote for Huckabee
Item #7 got a lot of press here in Missouri, as the born-again-serial-rapist took all of 6 weeks after his release to kill a Missouri woman (in a very small town only 4 miles from where I grew up).

Re: The Good Ones
Prior to 1492, over 40 million North American people (with around 1800 religions) were slaughtered and/or "converted" by protestant xians.
There are some very false statements contained in here.
First is the date. Colombus didn't discover the caribean islands until 1492. The only settlement prior to his rediscovery of america was the colony founded by Leif Erikson in what is now Nova Scotia, roughly around the 1000s.
The spanish wouldn't be settling the Americas in significant numbers until into the 16th century (1500s).
Further, the Spaniards and Portuguese were catholics, not protestants. You don't find a protestant settlement until the 1600s that survives in the Americas, though the english were certainly exploring the region well beforehand.
The final mistatement. We did not kill 40 million people before 1492. That is largely when the killing started. It didn't stop until the 1880s, if not later.
But your overall point is right--Hitler is beat by predecessors and successors, and beat by the very people the religious would like us to look away from or in a different light.

Re: Buz continues to misrepresent the truth.
It depends on how close to fundamentals of the book and the prophet they are as well as what the trust topic is. As for the presidency, too much ambiguity to risk, imo.
If I had a Muslim neighbor I'd try to be helpful and befriend as I do all my neighbors and perhaps even trust them to watch my house when absent. Likely I'd plow the snow on their driveway with my tractor for free. I wouldn't invite to a pig roast.

It's called the "Indian Wars" where pagans killed peaceable protestant settlers as well, oppressed folks who just wanted to find a home in a land full of vacancy with no certain boundaries where they could escape tyranny and be free. AND GOD BLESSED AMERICA!

There are all varieties of Christians, Jar including you and me who are as far apart in practice and ideology as one can get. Some like Obama's mentor obviously thinks and acts like Louis Farrakhan. My variety doesn't.
WHY DO YOU WASTE EVC'S BANDWIDTH WITH REPEATED LONG MESSAGES AND QUOTES TO ACCOMPLISH NOTHING PRODUCTIVE TO THE DISCUSSION?

Your claim was related to a Muslim in the White House and alleging that the quotation represented "Obama on Israel:" while there was not one single bit of truth on those points in the quotation you provided.
WHY DO YOU WASTE EVC'S BANDWIDTH WITH REPEATED LONG MESSAGES AND QUOTES TO ACCOMPLISH NOTHING PRODUCTIVE TO THE DISCUSSION?
When you stop posting absolute falsehoods, misdirection and misrepresentation I will stop pointing out such events. All you need to do is stop misrepresenting the truth and posting absolute falsehoods and I will stop calling you on them as I was forced to do in Message 271, Message 280 and Message 283.
I don't much worry about Louis Farrakhan's Christianity but honestly, your brand is the most frighting threat the world faces right now.

I've always been particularly fond of Chumbawamba's Mouthful of Shit myself, Juggs.
It brings me such fond memories of your posts when I hear it.
Either that Chumbawamba song, or this one.
Hey, is that you in this video?

Heh.
If you like that one, you'll love this.

It has become fashionable on the left and in Western Europe to compare the Bush administration to the Nazis. The comparison is not without some superficial merit. In both cases the government is run by a small gang of snickering, stupid thugs whose vision of paradise is full of explosions and beautifully designed prisons. -- Matt Taibbi

So, do you think the United States Constitution is wrong when it states in Article VI, section 3:
"...no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."
The elected officials of this nation swear an oath to support our Constitution, yet Bush has failed miserably, and in fact has violated and made a mockery of the Constitution in many ways.
Can I conclude, then, that his fundamentalist Christianity has caused this failure, and that there is too much ambiguity about Christians to risk another one in the Whitehouse?

Sumarization Time
To summerize my concern is that since the major media has focused on Hillary and pretty much given Obama a pass so far as the hard questions.
This thread has been an eye opener as to the real danger which is the way younger Americans out of the colleges and universities think. When they argue that a candidate for the most powerful position in the nation and the world is OK having a major mentor whom he lauds thinking and acting like Black Muslim, Louis Farrakhan as well as other questionable factors involved with his past, the future of America looks scarry.
The same folks appear to be dangerously appethetic regarding the absolute necessity of the survival of Israel, that little island in a sea of oil rich nations who aspire to totally dominate the Mideast and to expand that rule over the entire world; that nation which is presently the only means of stability in the region. This not only applies to Islamic militant theocracies but to Russia as well who remains a threat to the West.
Hopefully someone has learned something useful from the time and effort.

The Bat Summary For the Parts That Are Kind of on Topic
There is no credible reason to believe that Obama is a Muslim.
There is even less reason to believe that Obama harbors some secret "Muslim agenda".
Added by edit:
Well, I should add a few more details to make this a proper summary.
There is no credible evidence that Obama is a Muslim. Those rumors have been traced to the internet smear-mongering rumor mill.
There is no evidence that Obama harbors a secret "Muslim agenda". Obama a long record of public service, and one only needs to look at his record to guess at his not-so-secret "agenda". Also, there isn't even a world-wide "Muslim agenda" to begin with.
This, I think, summarizes what I have been saying.

Kuresu,
By "slaughtered" I included the diseases we brought with us. That goes for North and South America.
The "prior" thing was a boo-boo. In my careless editing, I cut out "lived here" (but didn't cut it out of the South America sentence).

Black Muslim, Louis Farrakhan
Why mention that Louis Farrakhan is black buz? even going so far as to emphasize it with italics. Have you decided to stop hiding your racial bigotry behind your religious bigotry?
