Okay Glordag - I'll let you off for now.
But Dan shall incur the full wrath of his superior species.
Yep. And as citizens of this country, they agree to abide by the terms of our Constitution
You see - to me, this is the talk of man. For all countries are not "owned" by anyone. yet this is the attitude which prevails amongst man-species. I my view - all countries belong to God.
As for those who suspended your mum (mom) - They are guilty of the thing - thinking they own the right to do that thing. They haven't read their NT properly, and are against your mom! They are not blameless!! They have abused their power on earth.

Sh*te - I've just realized how darn anti-bible I sounded. "Kiss the baba" head. Yikes, that came so close to worshipping idols without me knowing.

Sorry, I only eat real babies. Plastic ones don't quite hit the spot . Someone pass the Gerber sauce, please. The legs don't quite taste right without a dab here and there...

Mike,
I think your own words convict Christianity. Modern Christianity is largely a cult of blame with little responsibility. When its very short-comings are brought up, its members start pointing fingers everywhere else, except at themselves. When a Christian does harm where are the other Christians to clean up the mess?
Christianity is organized religion; Christians as a rule take all the benefits from this organization, while refusing to accept little of the responsibility for standing up against those same organizations when they do wrong.
I find Christians as a group to be genuinely dishonest. It is dishonest to claim on one hand that Christians are morally superior, yet hold that they have little personal responsibility since all is forgiven. It is dishonest to take on the mantle of moral-superiority without holding yourselves to a higher moral standard.
Christians are very quick to condemn non-Christians and non-church groups and exceedingly reluctant to condemn the actions of other Christians. This is odd, since the New Testament is far more concerned with the actions of Christians then non-believers.

As for those who suspended your mum (mom) - They are guilty of the thing - thinking they own the right to do that thing. They haven't read their NT properly, and are against your mom! They are not blameless!! They have abused their power on earth.
And shame on all the Christians who stand by and let it happen, and who continue to let this sort of practice take place.

Crimney, Mike thinks he's a Vulcan. Just when I thought this thread couldn't get any sadder...
You see - to me, this is the talk of man. For all countries are not "owned" by anyone. yet this is the attitude which prevails amongst man-species. I my view - all countries belong to God.
Fine, let's work under the assumption that this "God" thing owns all countries. It's still men and women who actually live in the countries in question, and they still have to find a way to share those countries. Such as, say, the Constitution, the terms of which prevent people from imposing their beliefs on others.
They are guilty of the thing - thinking they own the right to do that thing. They haven't read their NT properly, and are against your mom! They are not blameless!! They have abused their power on earth.
So... they were imposing their beliefs on her, then.

Hello mike the wiz,
Anyone who hates you or persecutes you for practicing or defending your beliefs is wrong in doing so. Also, this is an open forum where each person has the privilege of initiating a discussion and should encounter no personal abuse; only studied disagreement.
That said, in the real world many of the Christians I know tend to instigate confrontation and then cry persecution.
For example: I have an older brother who is a strict fundamentalist. We are close and tend to avoid deliberate religious discussion. However, during the course of any secular discussion, he seems unable to refrain from interjecting the occasional religious "sound bite". These are put forward as "cut & dried" statements of fact.
Now, if I dispute any of these "campaign slogan" remarks, I am very soon accused of attacking him and his religious beliefs. He pleads persecution. But he is not being "persecuted", he is simply not getting what he desires; which is, if only from silence, my endorsement of his religious views. IOW, he is seeking validation. And when this validation is not forthcoming, he gets resentful and compensates by either lashing out or retreating into his "persecuted" persona.
Similarly, thousands of people go to church every sunday within walking distance of my house; and I have never once approached any of them with the intention to persuade them not to do so. But, conversely, I am often approached by them with the admonition that I had better do so.
Thus, again, personal abuse in any form should not be tolerated. And I would defend with my life your right to the personal pursuit of your religious predilections. But when you show up on my doorstep, or in my face, or in this forum, you have declared open season on your religious dogma.
As ever, namaste'

Hey Dan - I thought you had a sense of humour man. This thread is *okay* to me. I thought the baby curry thing was atleast a bit funny. Ho hum, there's no respect earned in this town. No madder how hard I try.
Trae and Amhodli (Hope I spelled right)
Not sure why I should be related to people who do interact in that which I do not. I guess defending Dan's mom wasn't enough to "convince" Trae that I'm not some witch burning crusader.
Nevertheless, anyone who reads message 1 and cannot see the *obvious* exagerations therein compared to my other regular postings - needs a bit of upstairs excersize.
I mean come on!!!! Isn't it getting a bit obvious when I keep saying "and I even suggest you are against me" for the umpteenth time. Ho hum. I don't feel I've claimed "persecution".
It is dishonest to claim on one hand that Christians are morally superior,
Please now - I can't let you get away with this strawman when I have openly endorsed and praised the *works* of atheists at this forum. WHEN have I said that I am morally superior?
You see, this is a simple lack of understanding concerning logic. In another forum, I said "I'm not homophobic" and they said - "but christianity is", so I said "I accept evolution" - so he said "but christianity doesn't - your religion" - then I said, "now please, I beg you - I am not in favour of saying that atheists are going to hell" - and they said "the religion you follow says this".
So I give up - I'm going to hell because the group that claims to eat the same pies as me - have killed others, - apparently with pies.
Did you know - Hitler was evolutionist - so apparently, Dan's a nazi.
And also - I give up trying to convince people that logic has exited via their rear end. Yes I'm convinced - that if I offered Dan a Dushku and all he wanted, I'd still take flack off him.

BTW Trae - I have no "special people" position. If christianity is a failure then so be it. I really couldn't care less. Because it seems that I am not defined by "christian" anyway. It's just a word anyway. As long as I'm written in the book of life, I couldn't give a flapjacks flubber crack about this anymore. It seems you've got me judged and jailed.

Oh honestly Mike, joke or not, stop whining. It's getting tiresome.
Trae referred to the negative actions of Christians in general. You chose to take this as an insult against you personally, suggesting that he said you were a witch burning crusader.
So are we talking about Christians in general, or Mike the Christian? If it's the former, there are plenty of crappy actions down the centuries to discuss that you'd be very hard pressed to deny. If it's the latter, nobody has any problem except that he can get kind of annoying sometimes, and has a creepy fixation on "baba"s.
It's honestly that simple.

Hey - it's not creepy I assure you. It might be taken cynically what with the recent age spilling out perverts - but I delight in the cute baba. Maybe it's far less sinister than it seems, for people to find babies cute.

I'm not really whining though. There's be no smilies in my post if I was.
How am I annoying? Maybe it's because some truths hurt eh!
I'm not sure why you have beef with me though Dushku boy, I can't think of anything that I might have offended you with - but rather - defended.
