So to compensate, I feel obligated to contribute something -- like for example, Jesus, Paul and all the rest who were eventually martyred warned it'd be thataway, didn't they? Many sign up thinking the true Christian life will be a bed of roses, so to speak.It's the true fundie ones who are most hated. Why? Because it's us who preach what Jesus and the apostles taught, that it's an exclusive religion and Jesus is the one and only way to God and Heaven. It's been said over and over, Jesus said in plain and simple words that no man could get to God, but through him, he being the sacrificial sin offering and the only mediator between God and man. That excludes all other religions which preach and teach otherwise.No true Christian fundie harms anyone. During the Dark Ages of the bloody inquisition of torture and death perpetrated by the popes and bishops of the Vatican it was mostly the fundie true Christians who would not cow tow to those popes and bishops who were burned, tortured and persecuted so severely. Yah, they got into it with Islam, but both of these were bloody religions and the blood shed between them was in war battle situations for the most part. They deserved each other and kept one another at bay in God's providence for prevention of total global conquest. They're still at it, but imo, the Muslims will win out eventually and come very near to achieving their goal.

Redheads are amazing, and are by far the superior female strain. All others must be eliminated. While we're at it, we should eliminate Mike the Wiz. As for unbelievers hating christians, well, in a very -generic- sense, I hate when christians impose their beliefs upon our country and society as they often do, but then, I'm also glad for some of their influence. Basically, I just hate when people abandon logic for blind faith, and that is directed towards all religions.As for the whole "the US is going to fall within the next century" discussion, I have mixed feelings on that. I can definitely see some immediate threats, but it also seems as if we're well enough prepared to deal with them. But isn't your country mainly made up of them?Yet you say "our" country. Does this not indicate that you truly tolerate "your" side. Or you are "for" "your" side - and against me?I mean - you say christians impose their beliefs on you. But is it not a highly exaggerated claim? I mean - it's not like they are going to actually kill you or something. That would be a rare occurence. But you forget that God has been around a while - you live in a world of which people have believed in God for thousands of years. You say I must "accept" evolution - is this not also a reality? That it is the "mainstream" that say God is true?So why am I living in an atheist world - or in "your" country? What makes you think atheism has a chance against God? 2000years and counting!

My apologies for the misunderstanding. What I meant was, I believe our government should be run completely independant from religion. This is most certainly a basis with which we are founded, but it seems to be violated fairly often, especially now. Sure, Christians aren't threatening to kill me or anything, but when certain laws (that shall remain nameless, as that will drift this thread off-topic) are being pushed for that (at least I believe) have a purely Christian or religious background, it certainly becomes a method by which Christians may impose their beliefs on me, whether consciously or not. I realize that a large majority of our population is Christian, and I also realize that I do side with certain opinions and groups. I am not against the other groups themselves, and I am not against them believing what they will, but I am against many fashions in which they push their beliefs upon others.I hope that clarifies what I meant at least a little.

Yep. And as citizens of this country, they agree to abide by the terms of our Constitution. They don't like that Constitution, they can always vote to get it changed... that's also their right as citizens of this country. Ask my Jewish Mom, who, back in high school, was suspended for not standing during the Lord's Prayer.They wanted her to choose between her faith and her education.
