Can some of us Believers (although admitedly we have had our GOD-sense removed) hate you too? If that will make you feel better, then I can try.

although you guys still have Quebec.
Actually, IMHO the US is in the last few decades of its existance, although I believe the breakup will be along different lines (though equally absurd) than those you project. But I believe that the US is undergoing a very complex Balkanization right now for sure. There is a definite rise in the frequency and acceptability of voices of non-reason. Gene scott, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson are good examples, but there are actually many, many more. People like Judge Moore need to be compared with similar voices of non-reason like Louis Farakan. The great threats IMHO are twofold. First and most threatening would be the advent of a Charismmatic Leader. If that happens I think things could go downhill in less than a decade. The second threat is the continued Balkanization and invasion from outside. We are seeing a change in the attitude of many immigrants, a revision to seperatism as opposed to assimilation. This is particularly evident where I live where there is an active and growing seperatist movement. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

although you guys still have Quebec. But that is based on good old fashioned rational greed for power. It is on "our" side of the argument. Also I don't think it will keep going. Nor do I think that the different ethnic groups will continue on separate paths. I think they will split into the "rational" and "irrational" camps rather than stay bound by ethnicity. As I have said before, I have Christian friends who agree with me on much, much more than they agree with the fundamentalists; including issues of faith and morality. The camps are not split on thse lines.

It's not hate they feel, Mike, but fear. Fear makes people do strange things.
Recall please how Christ was treated and don't expect less and consider it an honor if you will, that you are treated the same. He was also feared in his time on earth, and is feared now. Deep within every soul lies the question....'What if?' I hear your soul in your written words. Peace! This message has been edited by PecosGeorge, 08-05-2004 09:34 PM

I must say that you certainly have missed the mark concerning my emotions concerning Christians. I do not hate and certainly have no fear of them. What threat do you suppose you could possibly pose? I am certain that you are a peace loving person and would never knowingly harm another person under normal conditions and I am quite convinced that the others here are equally tame. Of course Ned and myself are Canadian and we obviously can't be trusted so I suppose you better guard that 49th parallel cause you never know when we may go postal and bring your nation to its knees.

I tend to agree with sidelined... I'm about as hard-core Bible-thumping Christian as you can get, yet I enjoy the dog-fights, and I don't really feel any personal animosity towards or from anyone... though I do find the one or two grotesque cynics sometimes annoying... especially those that dogmatically interpret the Bible to be anti-God. Anyway, I don't think they feel frightened or whatnot; on the contrary, they think they've got it all figured out, and it is us poor neurotic superstitious believers who are to be pittied in their minds.

Well said though I am quite content to realize that I do not have it all figured out though I may pity you for a position I cannot share {and you with me} I gain nothing by hate or fear in a forum of people whos only crime is to try and understand themselves and others. I may point out flaws in your stories or force you to think about a way of looking at things that may not have occured to you but the best that I can or anybody can is discuss this mystery we are all a part of and leave the individual to their own devices for figuring things out. Each of us is ultimately the only ones occupying our skins so it is best to be alone and attentive in matters of the big questions. We can never discern the elephant if we don't confer with the rest of our blind collegues.

It's the unspoken unconscious, and un-articulate thoughts that may appear most true! Do I sound annoying yet? (I hope so) - Because this whole "No God" thing is infact post-faith reasoning and confirmation bias. Oops - I'm taking your arguments and using them on you. Am I annoying yet? I hope so! In hope that you take some of your own medicine! Hah! You see, you've deluded yourself that there's no God. No really, I do believe you consciously believe there isn't - but subconsciously Schraff, it's all atheism bias, so you can't possibly know it. Tell me when I'm annoying you please. Hah! And also - God is a given, just admitt it. Proof isn't needed in "knowledge". Don't believe me? Take it up with the logicians.
I know God exists. I have the truth. Hah! You guys are flies in my web! Columbo is crafty! Dushku reject! PS --> You can't run forever Schraff female! Hahahahaha! I'm gunna get YYYOOOOOUUUUU!!!!! This message has been edited by mike the wiz, 08-06-2004 07:24 PM

Ahahaha!
Just my luck that such a kind and helpful atheist should come along and spank my botty. If it's any consolation, this is my first attack on the other side in quite a while.

Not entirely sure what you were originally referring to, but for what it's worth, I think you were badly done by, and misrepresented at the infidels board. Like anyone, atheists can be dickheads sometimes (myself included )! Don’t worry about it.

Who were you at the infidels board?
I admitt I was totally creationist against the many. It was 30-1, and at this forum it was only ever about 10 against me when I was YEC. If you were "Lindum" at infidels, then forgive my bad memory - I attend too many forums it seems. (ps - are you confused as to message one? Or that I say - my first attack on the other side (atheists))? This message has been edited by mike the wiz, 08-06-2004 07:53 PM
