I was talking to a friend the other day as we put some wine to good use and we found that we had a shared concept that we did not know any one else experienced.
This concept (maybe not the right word) was that occaisionally we get the impression that we are being watched.
Now, thats not to say spied on, more like by a 'live studio audience' or a panel of reveiwers. We both felt some urge to impress this 'audience' by doing whatever task was at hand as competantly as we could.
We even agreed that when we were concentrating on impressing this imaginary audience we could focus of the task very well and time would fly by.
I'm finding that I get the impression as I write this message....weird....
I have always had these types of experiences.
Any way, is this common? Does anyone else get this typ of feeling?
I'm interested because, I can't help wondering that if I interepreted this feeling different I might conclude it is god.

I get the opposite. I walk a lot and I often get the impression that I'm completely invisible to motorists who should be watching where they're going.

In my pre-belief days I was a bit of a felon. I had learned that so long as one was smart enough about it then one could get away with just about anything. And I did get away with it. Doing the things I did never caused me much in the way of moral turmoil.
On occasion I would find myself considering embarking or about to actually embark on a particular course of action and would get the sense that I was being observed. Not by security personnel or people or the like. But as if a personal entity was observing. I didn't get a notion that 'it' was telling me not to do it - the observation was passive.
But the fact of being observed thus would cause a bit of unease about what it was I was intending to do. And sometimes I aborted the mission.
3 guesses as to who it was...

Kind of funny thread because I think I know exactly the feeling you're talking about. I don't know why, but I especially get the feeling after doing any of the following:
(1) Looking at myself in the mirror for more than five seconds straight.
(2) Looking at porn when I'm by myself. The more freaky the porn, the stronger the feeling gets.
(3) Doing anything in my dead grandmother's Mercury Sable, but especially when it involves a girl.
I'm a little skeptical of anything supernatural, so I just tied these feelings to being too self-conscious. The first one is me telling myself that I'm vain (even though I've seen people at my gym stare at themselves for over 5 minutes). The second one is me saying "Oh my god! What are you doing!?" And the third...well, actually that one just freaks me out.

They are probably staring at their bodies. Not themselves. What you refer to is probably looking at yourself in the eyes. Time was when I couldn't look at all.

you are being watched, but....
But don't go crazy or become unstable due to realizing that.....the truth is at different points in our lives, some of us become aware of various spiritual realities.....keep travelling the pathway of truth and you will find One there drawing you, One with pierced hands and feets that is the reality or truth behind all things existing.
Sometimes though, some truths being so radical to one's existing paradigm of reality can shake a man's or woman's mind to a degree that distortions of reasoning can come in, and yes, some spin off into insanity. I don't think that is happening, and it sounds like a more healthy realization is occuring with you......feeling better, time "flows" better, etc,....
But just because you may be aware of God, angels and benevolent people (the spirits of just men made perfect) observing you, some others become too aware of dark forces watching them as well, and it drives them to paranoia. Best to keep getting in touch with good ....
