Damn. I was going to brag that I was briefly at 49. (Although it was kind of a cheat -- a couple of words that came up were repeats from the last time I did it.)

Re: Bowls of rice
Dry or wet grains? In terms of expansion, an outmeal that I like (more like cream of wheat, some swedish thing), a tablespoon of meal expands to the size of a bowl. I know that rice expands, but not by how much. That 10,000 per cup figure could very well be quite a bit of food (as in, 2-3 cups versus 1). Currently at 43 and 330 grains. Yes, I'm using a dictionary, but hell, this is fun. I'm learning what words means.

They don't have any money to donate. At all. This is a gimmick to get the advertisers to donate money. You know when you go to a webpage and an ad appears? Everytime an ad appears, the advertiser pays money to the owner of the webpage. Whenever you answer a question and click the answer, new ads pop up. The advertisers then pay the website money, and this money gets donated. Answering the questions is just a gimmick to get you to click the mouse, so that new ads pop up, so that advertisers will send money to the website, and only then does the website have any money to donate.

Its to make you feel special
Can't they donate this rice without us having to do some quiz? A few reasons why I think this is being handled the way it is.
In the States there is this yogurt company who makes "pink lids." Pink is supposed to be the designated color for breast cancer awareness. By saving the lids and returning them, its the equivalent of donating the specified amount. I used to ask, "Well, why don't they just give a certain amount?" The answer is, its a PR move for the company. Knowing that Yoplait makes a good product AND donates handsomely to a charity will keep you, the consumer, coming back for more. “This life’s dim windows of the soul, distorts the heavens from pole to pole, and goads you to believe a lie, when you see with and not through the eye.” -William Blake

First go: 49 vocab level at 1000 grains. Great fun--learned some wicked Scrabble words, too. Real things always push back.-William James

Good lord, my first was 47 at 1350. No wonder I can't beat you at chess.
