Quite likely the worst picture ever taken of me, but also quite likely the only available picture that's currently on-line anywhere in the world: edited: On second thought. Yeah, there are quite a few old farts on this board. Some are prematurely old, like Ned. Some are simply older than dirt (like me). And some, like coragyps, are so old that when a creationist challenges "Were you there?", they can honestly answer "Yes, I was."

Although directed at Schraf, I took your advice and uploaded a better picture as my avatar. I have no clue how to go from here, tho'. Thoughts are appreciated (remembering that I am so old-fashioned I think electric typewriters are high-tech)? edited to add: In case you're wondering, that's me on the left, with my arm around my best friend. Unfortunately, that one isn't an exotic locale. It was taken last October on Kelly's Island, Ohio (a smallish island in Lake Erie where my wife owns a cottage). My girl loves that place (bunnies and deer, a lake to swim in, and no leash laws) - we took her there because she had just been diagnosed with inoperable cancer, and we wanted to give her a last hoorah. It's one of my favorite pictures of her.
