Read it here at World News CNN.
quote:
OTTAWA, CANADA (AP) -- On the first of his two-day planned visit to Canada, George W. Bush was taken into custody by Canadian authorities citing war crime charges. Under Canadian law, even a non-citizen can be charged for crimes committed outside of Canada once that individual enters the country.
The arrest claims that President Bush has been "party to the crime of torturing prisoners held in Guantnamo Bay and Abu Ghraib."
Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin released a written statement indicating that "proceedings have commenced against President George W. Bush under the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act (s. 9(3))."
You can read more at that page.

excited before
".. for about 3 seconds before..."
You realized that Bush's secret service entourage has more fire power than our entire armed forces put together. We'd have a tough time making an arrest stick.
I was at a concert last night and the singers managed to fit in about 5 "Bush" remarks. A cheap way to get an applause around here.
I'm not sure is the red states care what the rest of the world thinks but I'm sure they would be surprised and the degree of animosity that has grown over the last couple of years here.
I've always been somewhat critical (in a friendly way) of the US. The lastest game of a thieviing senator trying to steal 3 billion is close enough to the last straw. I'm prepared to take the economic consequences of shutting off the energy we supply to the US until the bullying stops.

Re: excited before
This is why I "blame Canada" for our situation. Why can't you guys just invade the US and free us liberals from the savage hands of the conservatives? Just send into the states everything you have and hope for the best. If it turns out to be a disasterous campaign, then at least you Canadians will be remembered as the anti-evil (or the good) knights of North America.
I say you guys try to take D.C. in 2 days.

Because their total troop mobilization is about 20,000, from what I've read.
On the other hand, we have the most advanced, mechanized army in the world, though a fair bit of it is overseas at the moment.

Mmmmm now there is a thought. If we attack before Zephyr is home maybe the odds wouldn't be so bad after all.
Nah, the Washington police probably outnumber us.

Re: Mmmmmm now there's a thought
The bigger question is what would you do if you won? Isn't Quebec enough of a problem?

Problems
There I go not thinking ahead again. Seems to me we could consider withdrawing under our terms. We get Wash, Or, Idaho and other good skiing -- you guys get Quebec.
Oh, and Alaska, that panhandle arrangment was stupid!

Re: Mmmmmm now there's a thought
Hehe. This reminds me of the classic Peter Sellers comedy The Mouse That Roared, in which a tiny Slavic country invades the US for the sole purpose of surrendering and collecting post-war aid. I suppose the motive would be a bit different in this case, but you might take heart from that fact that, in the picture, the smaller country ends up in possession of one of our (then) latest and greatest a-bombs.

Re: Mmmmmm now there's a thought
I had an economics professor that argued that the easiest way to defeat the USSR (this was back in the bad ol' cold war days) was to surrender to them -- they would collapse from sheer inability to deal with so much more things to govern.

And what we want one of those for?
An A-bomb, we could have built our own decades ago. Why would we?
Then we'd have WMD and be even more subject to invasion by the only country we have to fear in today's world.

Naw, haven't you heard? We don't actually invade the countries that do have WMD; it's too risky. We only invade the ones that nobody can prove has WMD.
