Re: Another non-believer
Well, I'd assume that at least the basic outline of the story and characters would be the same, that would be enough for me
touche.
i thought they made for fairly entertaining movies. i just haven't been interested enough to try to read them. mostly because fantasy is not really my thing, and if it was, i'd probably go for lotr first.

Re: Another non-believer
My biggest problem with the books is basically that they are childrens books. They are fun to read, but rather simplistic.
These thing change though as the series progress, I wouldn't recommend the last one to young children. Perhaps from the age of 11 or 12. There is bound to be tears in the last part of the book though.

The Movies
quote:
The first two movies were pretty bad, but the third was pretty good.
Now I liked the first two movies, but didn't care for the third.
I've read all the books (except the most recent) and I felt that there was too much the third movie didn't address.
I'll have to wait for my neice to finish her copy and then I'll read it. Fortunately for me she reads fast.
I need to find a good fun adult SciFi book to read.

Really? Because I thought that was its strength.

For my money there's nothing more fun than a Iain Banks "Culture" novel. It's like information-age super-far-future space opera. Wicked cool.

Ignore him...
I cried a little too.
But I think... no can't say any thing that might spoil.

It does, I get very emotional when I think about it!
It is good that you got into a book as much as you did, but what are you going to be like when you read the end of the next book where Harry dies?

I'll be reading it soon. I've read all of the others at least twice. The only bookstore we have here in Vicksburg is small and in a mall. I'd rather wait and get the new one next time I go to Jackson, which will probably be this weekend.
I absolutely love these books, but not so much that I want to go stand in line at midnight. And I don't like to order books over the internet; half the fun of buying them is perusing the bookstore. Besides, I like to support small local bookstores, like Jackson's Lemuria Bookstore, so I'll probably shop for it and whatever else might catch my eye there.

banning oneself
If we were to follow about 75% of what is posted here we would now go into a very, very lengthy discussion of whether my admin alter is "myself" or not. We would examine, in great depth, the rules of the forum and some would conclude it said one thing and others another thing.
Some would argue that "myself" is split into a separate admin spirit and a base, rule bound body. Some might suggest that if one was banned the other would be unable to communicate in the regular realm while others would say that would free the remaining "self" to transcend the ordinary rules of the forum.
At 300 posts the same things would be being repeated for the 23th time.

The Cult Of Harry Potter Agnostics
Make it six.
So who died? Or do I have to read this thread? Lord knows I won't read the book! My family makes me watch the movies, though, so even if no one tells me I'll find out in a couple years.
