Pity, said Ford, I was hoping you could remind me. I really hate those guys you know. They really are the creeps of the cosmos, buzzing around the celestial infinite with their junky little machines that never work properly or, when they do, perform functions that no sane man would require of them and, he added savagely, go beep to tell you they've done it!

Re: Douglas Adams
Which do people prefer, the first three books or the 2 radio series? I say just the first three as they are the ones that cover a roughly equivalent stretch of plotline.

Re: Douglas Adams
I prefer the (tapes) radio series over the books, but enjoy the books for filling in details (they just don't have the panache provided by the voices, phrasing and timing).

Re: Douglas Adams
I prefer the radio series. I even prefer the radio series scripts over the books.

New film version 2005
There's a new movie of the book slated for relase next year, with filming about to start. Details of the production and unlikely cast here. After growing up with the books, radio and TV series, I have deep reservations about this one...

Re: New film version 2005
hopefully it will remove the bad taste of the extremely lame television version and use SOTA animation for Zaphod's second head ... it looked like a floppy stuffed sock on the TV version
