Well, I'm certainly glad you caught the reference. But it's actually Edmond Rostand, about 240 years after de Bergerac's death. Cyrano was a real person who apparently had a big nose. He is claimed to have been in more than 1000 duels, most of them because of his nose, and while he was an author (he is one of the first writers of science fiction), he didn't write that famous scene.
As I said, I'm an actor. All of my stuff is written by someone else. And when you do something stupid and get a degree in the damned subject, everything's a cue. It's why I wasn't that impressed with Moulin Rouge: I have a better soundtrack in my head than what they used. I mean really...a song fight about love and "What's Love Got to Do with It?" never shows up? Please.
Glad you liked it.

Rrhain

Thank you for your submission to Science. Your paper was reviewed by a jury of seventh graders so that they could look for balance and to allow them to make up their own minds. We are sorry to say that they found your paper "bogus," specifically describing the section on the laboratory work "boring." We regret that we will be unable to publish your work at this time.

Minds are like parachutes. Just because you've lost yours doesn't mean you can use mine.

Fine if you don't want to answer. I'll be posting your photo on the gay or straight website and let the world decide.

It's pretty easy to find Rrhains blog.
Perhaps the most recent post and attached picture is not conclusive evidence of his sexuality, but Rrhain, IMO you are wearing WAY too much makeup.

Because the world has such a great track record...

What's the difference?

It is fine if he doesn't want to answer, what the hell is it to you anyway?
And next time you call anyone narrow minded or has a confirmation bias please refer back to your argumentum ad populum comment that you just made. It's really rediculous this dudes sex life has gotten so much traction that now people like you are employing logical fallacies to expose his sex life AND taking this "debate" off the website onto the web. Hilarious! Keep up the honest debating and not minding your own freeking business about one's personal life.

Re: What to do?
I don't think an effort to return this thread to discussion of the topic could be justified for a Coffee House thread, so there are several ways I could go. I could close the thread. I could move it to Free For All and just let everyone have at it. Or I could move it to the Biological Evolution forum where participants could have a scientific discussion about a possible hereditary basis for homosexual orientation.
I think it should be closed.
1) Nothing will be decided here,
2) Based on recent posts, not much useful will be said, and
3) There will be lots of biased comments that should just be ignored anyway.

Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

Re: What to do?
I agree with Coyote: close it.
This community is incapable of discussing the topic without losing its way in gibber and hoot.

I couldn't find any website that allows you to post a picture and ask people if the person is straight or gay, so I created one.
This website is frozen.
Congrats, Rrhain, for being the first on my site.

This is exactly the kind of liberal commie BS that I've been arguing against all these years. There's nothing wrong with one's sex life. Exposing it? You sound like it's a bad thing to be either straight or gay.
Sure, if he doesn't want to answer it directly. What's the harm in having people vote on it?
This is like that time someone said "asian people like to eat rice" and then all the politically correct people came down on him. (1) There's nothing wrong with eating rice as a main dietary supplement. (2) It is a fact that people in east asia consume a hell of a lot more rice than anywhere else.
Here are some more statements that are morally neutral and do not at all reflect on a person's character.
I have a rather large nose.
I drive an impala.
I use a canon wifi printer.
I'm straight.
I've experimented (or tried to) with other guys before.
I ate a hell of a lot of turkey this past Thursday. Still got left overs.
I like to eat steak.
Etc.
Again, there's nothing wrong with the act of eating rice just like there's nothing wrong with one's sexuality. I don't know what other people's motives are, but there are 3 reasons why I'm poking at Rrhain. (1) Believe it or not I consider him a friend I never met, (2) at this very moment part of me want to annoy him, and (3) ....um..... uh...... I can't remember right now.... oops...

Closing this Thread
In my previous post I asked if people would like me to close the thread, move it to Free For All, or move it to the Biological Evolution forum to discuss the hereditary basis of homosexuality, but there were too few responses to get any sense of a consensus.
I've decided to close the thread. Anyone interested in discussing the hereditary basis for homosexuality should propose a new thread over at Proposed New Topics.
