The Geneva Accords are a set of agreements... essentially an Israeli/Palestian peace plan... worked out by moderate Israeli/Palestinian leaders, and celebrated by almost all world leaders as a great breakthrough.
Even the Bush administration supports this positive step, and members such as Colin Powell and Wolfowitz are scheduled to meet with the Accord drafters.
The ONLY groups thus far coming out against the Accords are Palestinian militant groups (usually referred to as terrorist groups) and the Israeli government.
The Israeli government in particular is criticizing the US for discussing the Accords as something positive and meeting with its drafters. You can see an article on this at:
http://reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml...
I am interested in whether anyone feels that Israel and Palestinian militant groups are correct:
1) in criticizing the Accords... if so, why?
2) in criticizing the US for supporting the Accords and its architect... if so, why?
3) if neither are these criticisms are justified, does this suggest that the Israeli government is as much an impediment to real peace as the extremist Palestinian organizations... if not, why not?
