sorry, Percy...I tacked the previous post onto Jar instead of you by mistake. It was intended for you, though. PB
To show you the "bug" that I saw, noticed the chatlist and the online list currently(800pm on Sunday, 1/1/06) Welcome, Member Phat (Administrator AdminPhat)! If you are disconnected due to some software error or network error, the chat window just changes to a login screen. 1) I am getting booted quite frequently. Only admins have the power to do this, and our admins would never do such a thing. Obviously some bug is afoot! If you are booted, then a message appears on the screen saying that you were "kicked".

Thats helpful to know, nwr! Im glad that you told me...I was beginning to suspect some demons had invaded the other chat Admins and caused them to boot the Christian wannabe outta there!
Add by edit: Come to think of it, I always get kicked This message has been edited by Phat, 01-01-2006 09:00 PM

Hi Phat,
I don't think I've ever explained this before, though those familiar with how servers work can probably figure it out. The "online now" list is created using information from EvC Forum's server. It includes everyone who has touched a discussion board page in the past half hour. But the "chatting now" list uses information from the chatroom server, which belongs to SigmaChat. This list includes everyone in the chatroom, except moderators in invisible mode, although they're included in the list for other moderators. I don't frequent chat often enough to remember how to do this, but it's in the SigmaChat documentation which is available through one of those buttons beneath the chat window. I can merge the two lists, but I don't want to do that until I have a chat solution that is an integrated part of the board, i.e., configurable through the control panel. About getting bounced out of the chatroom, that might be related to your Internet connection. Browser pages don't require continuous connections, but the chatroom does. It isn't tolerant of short outages. Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger are very tolerant of them, but SigmaChat is not.

There are two messages numbered 191 in The Case Against the Existence of God.
Hmm, I wonder which of them will be listed in this link: Message 191

This seemed like the best place to put this. JOEBIALEK is a bot that I have seen on other message boards. Take a look at these links from another message board I post on.
Strangetalk - LoginStrangetalk - Login Strangetalk - Login Strangetalk - Login Strangetalk - Login This incarnation of JOEBIALEK seems to be a bit more advanced, because it used to make a long initial post, then its follow up post would only say "good points..."

This is fun. I post to a thread, and that thread disappears from the face of the earth.
Let's see if the same thing happens with this thread. Note: prior post was to the thread announcing the planned switch to dBoard 2.0. I can't give a link, since I cannot find that thread.

Interesting.
The thread appeared to disappear. But hard looking found it. I posted my previous message at around 05-14-2006 10:36 AM (CST). But my post shows up with a post date of 04-02-2003 02:36 AM. This time discrepancy probably also is responsible for some of the other problems (such as the blue lights not behaving properly). Hmm, looking at the top of the screen, I see: Current session began: 04-02-2003 02:08 AMPage Loaded: 05-14-2006 10:44 AM Current Time: 05-14-2006 10:47 AM Perhaps it has my time zone off by about 3 years

I just did an edit to a messenjah of one message here.
When I did a preview, the edit attribute was to messenjah. When actually posted, however, the attribute was correctly to Adminnemooseus. Also note at that topic: The topic title is not breaking to continue on a second line. Instead it goes off-screen to the right, and requires scrolling to read. Adminnemooseus

quote: This isn't a problem for me; both thread title and message subtitles are properly wrapping onto a second line. What I do notice (and I think this might be Faith's problem as well) is when I have my time zone set to Display times in the time zone of your local computer no times or dates whatsoever are displayed.

Thread title wraps in ID, but does not wrap in firefox.
... no times or dates whatsoever are displayed.
That might be browser dependent. Times and dates are displayed for me in IE and in firefox. Note:- earlier this morning, I browsed through my cookies, and removed every "" cookie I could find. I then logged into the site. This was to avoid conflicts between cookies for the old dBoard version and the current version. I'm not sure it is needed, since the problems that led me to do this were probably related to the date screw-up. But if you are having problems, then starting with freshly baked cookies might be a good idea.
