I rarely recommend books, but I've found a good one. It is an account of the founding of Christianity as portrayed in the Bible. I wouldn't call it a scholarly analysis of the NT, really. It is almost a retelling, but with copious notes concerning the culture and the people. I haven't checked the information but nothing in the book strikes me as grossly in error either. I is a very good book, very rich, brilliantly written, and, for the faithful, quite sympathetic to Christianity as well.
