Author | Topic: creationist theory on death of dinosaurs | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
aqua_illusion Inactive Member |
sorry i haven't had time to browse around yet so i don't now if there's a similar topic to this one
i'm doing an assignment on the different theories and evidence on how the dinosaurs died 65 million years ago and i'm not really sure about how a creationist would see it is it that noah's arc wasn't big enough to carry any of the dinosaurs so they all died in the flood? it's some kind of scientific fact that humans and dinosaurs didn't co-exist (well i think so anyway) please help if you can ![]()

---------------------------------------------------------------------------[Gen.6:17,19-20; 7:14-15; 9:17,19]--Juvenile representatives of every terrestrial, air-breathing kind (not species), including dinosaurs and pterosaurs, were directed by God to the Ark.
Those outside the Ark would be left to be scavenged by marine predators or be buried and fossilized quickly.------------------------------------------------------ hope this helps!

besides whats your point? My point is, what does "kind" mean in this context? It's not a level of taxonomy I'm familiar with. How do I know if two animals are in the same kind or different kinds?

i have to be honest Crash i think your nit picking a bit It's not nitpicking at all. If you're going to say that Noah only had to take two (or seven) of each "kind" onto the Ark, then to know how many animals that is, I have to know what a kind is. If you're going to point out certain modern-day animals that are members of the same "kind", then to analyze that claim I have to know how broad a classification "kind" represents. Are all modern canines in the same "kind"? Are all modern apes? Does that include humans, which are closer genetically to other apes than dogs are to other canines?

Oh, but Mike, it may be you who are missing the point.
Are lions and tigers the same "kind?" How about lions and cheetahs? Lions and lynxes? Lions and housecats? Where do you draw the lines? Where did ol' Noah draw them?

Perhaps, mike the wiz, you could display some intellectual honesty?
You initially post a supposed explanation for dinosaurs on the mythical Noah's Ark in which you use the term "kind". Then, when you are asked to explain waht you mean by "kind", you dodge and weave. Finally you absolve yourself of having to provide any such explanation because you copied the material from some website. If you are not prepared to discuss or defend material that you post then don't bother posting. If you are copying someone else's material or argument then at least do them the courtesy of acknowledging your source. Otherwise you are just plagiarising. Now can you tell us if cats and dogs are the same kind?

irrelevant wj because i admitt to dodging it and why - because its petty , i agree with the statement so i posted it to help someone ,it was never meant as an arguement ,
a cat is a cata dog is a dog

'Juvenile representatives of every terrestrial, air-breathing kind (not species), including dinosaurs and pterosaurs, were directed by God to the Ark.'
seems self explanatory to me.

How many sorts of dinosaur that "look different" do you suppose there were? What about all those other reptile-looking things whose fossils are found only below the dinosaurs? How many of them "looked different?"
Does a Pomeranian "look different" than a Great Dane? They do to me. How about a Boston Terrier and an Irish Wolfhound? [This message has been edited by Coragyps, 06-23-2003]

Dogs and cats are both mammals. Are they the same kind?
Are domestic dogs, wolves and dingoes the same kind? They look similar and different.
