Ever hear of taxes?

Taxes wont begin to cover it.

Have you seen the list of big banks and mega corps that pulled in hundreds of billions of dollars from the stimulus package? And we seem to find excuses to do this give away every decade or so.If we can afford to throw hundreds of billions of dollars at highly profitable international banks and businesses every few years then we can afford to alter our priorities to fund neglected humane needs.

But its all a ponzi scheme. Some suggest that the real debt that hangs over our head is closer to 90 trillion than 22 trillion. And whether true or not, the point is that we already have to pay a large chunk of our taxes merely to fund this insane debt. We are in a recession...more heading towards a depression...man are unemployed and the idea that we the middle(working class) should have to dig deeper in our already scare pockets to fund increased taxes in order to help the humane social programs that make up the social safety net wont go over well.Of course the critics say that we had to bolster the big banks and corporations in order to keep them from collapsing...or else the rich kids would simply gather up all their toys and go home. And to be fair, i'm all for helping out the poor downtrodden masses....particularly in this country--i'm in no hurry to bail out the whole world! Look...even as Christians, we need a certain amount of money to pay our bills--our rents,mortgages, car payments, health care and the idea of milking the middle class consumer to alleviate social crises is necessary yet not gonna be popular.The Republicans helped small business...they bailed that out....which was and is necessary as many small businesses are on the verge of collapse due to the quarantine. Increasing taxes will help the social safety net, though I honestly think that this whole Ponzi schematic house of cards will in fact implode within ten years. I've been wrong before though....it would be nice to keep the music playing and the masses working. But now Covid-19 is spiking again...and likely will have a third wave.This type of economic societal future will be one of the main causes for the revival of which I speak. In your guys world view, fear will drive people to irrational religious zealotry, and to an extent I agree---though I honestly think we are in some trying times and as a believer I will always pray more than simply reading the news and being a good little lemming.

First of all, it makes little sense to fund future stimulus checks by raising taxes. We pay out as much or more than we would recoup through a stimulus check. Second of all, those of us who are ourselves in the next to lowest quadrant of economic earnings dont have room to pay higher taxes. Perhaps the 2nd quadrant could afford it...we all know the 1st quadrant earns the lions share of profits and could well afford higher taxes but for some reason you have never favored taxing anyone but the working class itself. And i'm here to tell you right now that at least in my case I barely have $3,000.00 a year left over after paying all my bills and usually that too gets used. Were they to take that profit for increased taxes, I would actually fare worse. I do need to save aside something for retirement, though I doubt if I can reach my goal of one years earnings saved aside.The point is that increasing taxes is not going to cover the needs that the masses require and its silly anyway seeing as the government has traditionally bailed out big business more so than the little people.

Stimulus checks aren't intended to make a profit. They're intendrd to stimulate. Stimulate economic activity --> more tax revenue. Tell it to those of us in the lowest quadrant. So you could pay extra taxes on that $3,000. I have to spend everything I make. Some people already do fare worse. I don't know why you're so desparate to hoist yourself above the masses.The masses can take care of themselves as long as they have an economic environment that lets them do it.
