I must be either incredibly naive or missing something terribly obvious. While reading the questions I thought the test was making the point that Creationists don't necessarily make naive Biblical interpretations, then I clicked the button for the quiz answers and saw where one right after another they deemed the naive Biblical interpretation to be correct. This can't be real. It must be some spoof. They wouldn't really purposefully trumpet such ignorance, would they? I sure hope I'm missing something and it's just a joke, 'cause otherwise it's as scary as the ad at the bottom for tee-shirts that read " Stone Disobedient Children, Deuteronomy 21: 18-21". --Percy [This message has been edited by Percipient, 11-30-2001]

It took me a couple minutes too, but the store made clear. I actually was afraid it was for real since my church was recently picketed by the wonderful folks at Fred Phelps church
http://www.godhatesfags.com Some of the stories looked similar to his site. However, after reading a couple articles it was pretty clear it is similar to the Onion, but only focuses on religion. The story below is a perfect example.

"LandOver Baptist" is a for-profit site marketed by AmeriChrist LTD. They sell freethinker merchandise in their online store. They also have regular "news" stories much like The Onion but all are related to "church happenings", many are quite funny if you can handle the horrible ethnic slurs and vitriol the pages ooze--all a part of their spoof of religious conservatism. They even have webpages for their staff, which are hilarious. On their main page there is a picture of an hooded hate rally, but assure us that the white robes are worn "for insulation only". They have two "Scientific Creationists", one is being "spoken of in certain circles" because of his recent theory that all dinosaur fossils are really pig bones made enormous by the intense heat and pressure of the Noahic Flood. They are even kind enough to publish their hate mail. Apparently they do a fine job of spoofing because nearly all of their hate mail comes from people telling them about what horrible Christian examples they are for turning away people who are unsaved. Only a few visitors seem to figure out it is a spoof. [This message has been edited by gene90 (edited 01-25-2001).]

-3. What causes thunder and lightning? - -B. They are the product of clouds -colliding. Thunder is the sound the make -and lightning is the electrical current -produced. Anyone else notice that they got the evil satanistic scientific explanation wrong?

It is a religious parody site. Parody is a very good educational tool. The quiz merely points out that the bible is the exact opposite of science; i.e. mythology, fables, legends

Just what do you mean by "naive interpretation"? Why can't you take the bible at it's word? It does make anti-science statements. I can point out many scriptures that imply a flat earth.
