Thanx, but I'm looking for something more up to date, or something about the physical charactaristics of this illness.
I'v seen people writing that it might be a hoax, I think its not likely to be a hoax but I really need more info.

I used to know a bunch of the folk at WBAL. I'll see if I can get you a contact there.

Preliminary Research Results
My preliminary research indicates direct scientific evidence of any potential cause is purely speculative at best. However, there appears to be a considerable amount of media hype about some supposedly slow aging process, which considering the child's several near fatal encounters over time, appears disingenuous.
I have personally encountered several examples of severely delayed physical maturity in my time and this instance, however extreme, seems to fit in with my previous experience. IMHO the dearth of facts concerning this case leads to speculation that a potential element of media, and indeed medical, exploitation/misinformation may be involved.

Re: Preliminary Research Results
Thank you.
Can you refrence these results? (a book, a link...)
How do you encounter these children? (work, neighbours...)
In the news report they say, IIRC: doctors say she is the only one in the world with this illness.
Can you refrence other similar cases for comparison?

Re: Preliminary Research Results
May I beg your patience. I have to drive 380 miles starting in 4 hours, move the contents of a 1500+ sq ft house, return, and distribute it among 3 locations within the next 72 hours.
I will get back to you, but it may take a week.

Re: Preliminary Research Results
Considering the description along with photographs, I think there may be a relationship to Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome as some of the characteristics are similar.
Please see the following:
Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome Symptoms and Diagnosis
Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome: Practice Essentials, Pathophysiology, Epidemiology
http://www.geneclinics.org/profiles/whs/
Since I am not an MD nor able to directly evaluate, my diagnosis may be suspect. However, any media claims of absolute uniqueness or eternal life, especially in a child with so many medical problems, compels me to look for Occam's Razor among the articles in the cabinet.
I have seen children with similar conditions, the most striking example being a five year old a few doors down from me when I lived in Morro Bay, CA who did not grow, walk, or speak and was being pushed around in a baby carriage.
Will follow up later with more detail. As stated before, my time here is severely limited for the next few days.
