Trying to double post
Let's see if I can get this to post twice. Adminnemooseus Added by edit: No, the system won't let me effectivly hit the "Submit Now" button twice, one right after the other. Apparently the only way to "accidently" double post is to submit a new message and then use the browser "back" button to go back to the text preparation window, and then submit again. Moral - If you post a message and don't like the way it turned out, use the "edit" button to edit the thing. Don't use the "back" button to go back to the original text preparation window, edit, and submit. Doing that causes double postings. Second edit: Used the "back" button to go back to the edit window. Add these sentences. Click "Submit Now" and see what happens. Third edit: Use "back" button again to add this note. This procedure does post the edits, but will not cause a double posting. Trying to double post
Let's see if I can get this to post twice. Adminnemooseus New second edit. I've now "backed" all the way back to the original message creations window and added this stuff. Will now click "Submit Reply". Prediction - This will cause a double posting, but the two messages will have different content.

Re: Trying to double post
See - That's how you do a double posting. Again the moral is - Use the "edit" button to edit the posted message. Do not use the browser "back" button to back up to the original message creation window.

There are other possibilities: You hit submit. After a few minutes, your browser pops up a message saying that the remote site is not responding. You hit submit a second time. I don't think I have actually done that, but I came close. Instead of hitting submit the second time, I checked the page in another tab. It turned out that my post was there, so I skipped the second submit. In any case, my point is that sluggish response from the server can result in double posting. I'm guessing, but I think it is often the cause. Additional comment: the sluggish response could be due to a network problem, rather than a problem on the server itself.

Re: Trying to double post
I've done it a few times, a message pops up and tells me something like - 'you've already posted this message'.
Then you hit PREVIEW, and then SUBMIT. The message that you have already posted is spurious. It only means that you have attempted to post it. If your browser pops up a warning about sending unencrypted data, and you "cancel", then submit again, you also get that notice that you have already posted, even though you haven't.
