To paste a picture on the site here, first it needs to be a web picture. (if the picture you want to include is on your computer, you can upload it to a site such as ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs which will host your picture and give you the code to post it on the forum.
If the picture is from the web, you can use UBB code which is

or html which is
If the picture is large, you will probably want to use the html and add the width to the tag like this

This helps keep the page sizes reasonable

The image has to be hosted somewhere first. It can't be on your own machine unless your machine is also a host/server.
The reason you see it is that it is still in cache on your machine but us peones just get the red X of death.
Edited to add:
What you might want to do is get a copy of Troy McClures self-help video

Oh!
Well, I can see it, you probably have to re-image to windows '95, upgrade to "Xp" then buy the Kodak easyshare 4635 5.1 megapixel camera software and load it, convert the image to a Jpeg file and download it into to a microsoft paint file then compress and unzip it...then you can see it!

Re: What!?!
Because the link, "file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Default/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/rocket.png"is an address on your C drive. Your browser can find that but we can't.

Bah, that's not you doing that...I see your familiar sitting in the background trying to look innocent.

Re: Weird
It looks like someone shining a flashlight on your trenchcoat. Come to think of it, just why *are* you wearing a trenchcoat? Indoors in Florida yet!

Re: Weird
I'm not in Florida anymore Percy. I "used" to be in florida (you maybe confused because I talked about living in florida a lot since I was down there for 12 years). That photo was taken like two falls ago I think, and I live in northern alabama now...I had to leave florida because of trenchcoat/flashlight issues though....
No it's the wrong pic, I had one I "doctored" the flashlight effect on but it seems to be too large to transport no matter how I crunch it down...I would like it to be my avatar but I can't seem to get the byte space low enough. But you're right, it is a flashlight and I used paint to create an efffect that appears to large to come through.

Geez, a Photoshop lens flare would've taken all of two seconds and probably looked better, too.
Why do you look like a cross between Bob Cratchet and The Little Tramp?
