I have recently discovered (but not explored much), what seems to be a very powerful tool for finding scientific information.
http://scirus.com/ The catch is, much, or even maybe most of the search results sites are membership only access types. I haven't explored the requirements or costs of these memberships. Anybody out there, who is familar with "Scirus"? Moose ------------------ BS degree, geology, '83 Professor, geology, Whatsamatta U Old Earth evolution - Yes Godly creation - Maybe

Per Marks recent request: I thought I had put more information in the previous message, than it turns out I did. Scirus is a science only search engine. You can do searches for web information, for journal information, or for both. The journal information links seem to all require a special (ie University) membership to access. I am told by a geology prof that much of that information is online only; is no longer available in print. The web links are freely accessable. John Dvorak, in his "Inside Track" column (PC Magazine, 10/15/02, p. 65), is heaping a lot of praise on the Library of Michigan's eLibrary. The address is Welcome - Home - Michigan eLibrary at Michigan eLibrary, Library of Michigan . I have not yet checked this site out, but I thought I'd bring it to the attention of all, while I had it in mind. I just got a junk email on it earlier this week and did a test search. The links do look very relevant.

When I can't get find a paper I'm looking for (for free) from Google, I usually use Google "Scholar": Google Scholar Not sure how it compares to Scirus. I'll try and check into it later.

In the search engine list below, Search Engine Watch provides a guide to the major search engines of the web. Why are these considered to be "major" search engines? Because they are either well-known or well-used. Edited by AdminModulous, : No reason given.
