It Depends Who You Ask
Hi whaler777,
It depends which evolutionist you ask. Evolutionist is not a synonym for atheist. Most people who believe in in evolution are religious. Ask a hundred evolutionists and you'll get a hundred and one different answers. The Theory of Evolution itself is not concerned with life after death.
Myself, I don't believe that anything happens to you after death. When you die there is no more you. Our sense of self is an emergent property of our brains; no brain, no you.
Of course, I actually am an atheist, so that's what I was bound to say.

I never heard anything from evolutionist side that when you die what happens then.
That’s because there is no one philosophy about death. Religiously inclined evolutionists tend to believe along the lines of their faith. Those that are not so inclined have various beliefs. All in line with what we would expect from millennia of human philosophical thought.
Evolution does not harbor any philosophy vis--vis death.

Buz, if you were an evolutionist, do you think might just about be able to grasp the concept of topic?

Hi Granny. Nice to have you around. Note my two edits in parentheses, one posted at the same minute you posted and the other subsequent to your complaint.
Those are some of the concerns I would have as an evolutionist relative to life and death. Perhaps some of my points will be mind provoking to some evolutionists relative to this topic.

Evolutionist, gravitionist, nonsens..
Buz, i am not a mod, but would you please stop posting irrelevant content in this thread?
On the topic: I am not an evolutionist, like i am not a gravitionist.
Evolution is a scientific theory, backed up by evidence from various fields of modern science. Evolution has no meaning what so ever on my beliefs regarding spirituality or mysticism.
I am an atheist though.
I am certain, because i have never seen anything that shows anything else, that when i die, i simply cease to exist. The physical body dies, your brain stops signalling, everything stops.
I have had other beliefs during my life, but this is what evidence has shown me.

Rbp, I suggest that if you're not a mod, you do your thing, I'll do mine and the admins can do theirs relative to what is considered admissible to topic.
Done. If you post more like it I'll suspend you.

Whaler777, the theory of evolution has nothing to say about what happens after death. that's not it's porpose. You are free to believe in haeven and hell or whatever you think happens after death, as far as evolution is concerned. Evolution is not a relegion. it is a scientific theory.

Your question implies a false dilemma. Acceptance of the theory of Evolution has absolutely no bearing on religious views concerning the afterlife - make people who agree that the evidence overwhelmingly supports the Theory of Evolution also believe in an afterlife. Many of them likely believe in the same afterlife you do. Others have other religious beliefs, and others have no religious beliefs.
The Theory of Evolution is a model that explains the diversity of life. It has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone's belief concerning the existence or properties of an afterlife. Evolution speaks to what happens after we die as much as it speaks to the orbit of electrons in an atom: not at all.
The only reason evolution has an impasse with some people on religious grounds is because it contradicts a literal reading of various religious creation myths, including the Judeo-Christian Genesis myth. But this false dilemma suggesting that those who accept evolution might not believe in an afterlife belies extreme ignorance on your part.

Just like everybody else, we don't know for sure. I'd say nothing probably happens after you die. But accepting evolution doesn't necessarily imply any set of religious or spiritual beliefs. The scientific theory itself says nothing on the topic.

First point - as you have been told already - there is no such thing as an evolutionist.
My friends who are both born-again Christians and scientists (and thus obviously accept the theory of evolution as the scientific explanation for the origin and diversity of species) believe that they will be in Heaven (or equivalent depending on their particular thoughts of end-times theology)
Other friends who are atheists think that conciousness simply stops and there is nothing more.
What do I believe? It's complicated

I don't believe in the supernatural so I'm inclined to believe that there is nothing after your brain checks out.
That said, science is tentative so if we get data that shows there is some form of existence after death we can re-evaluate our position.

I'm an evolutionist and an atheist.
Here's my guess - when you die, your corpse rots.
I think that about covers it.
