Quetzal starts the New Year off right.
Quetzal in a very well reasoned argument demonstrates the difference between perceptions and reality.
Message 235.
I am always amazed by how much I learn from you sir.

Archer Opterix on the reality of symbols
In Message 54 Archer Opterix does a great job of explaining the reality of symbols in literature.
Archer Opterix is another one of our teachers here at EvC and I am indebted to him for what he has contributed to EvC so far and look forward to what he will teach us in the future.
For you sir

I'm honored, Jar. Truly. Many thanks.
Love the link. The sight of that landmark really takes me back.
A product we can all use after a few hours on the boards, eh?

January nominee
Author: AIguy
Forum: Intelligent Design
Thread: Why doesn't AI falsify ID?
Message 35
Although he and I do not agree on the central issue, his style, knowledge, and candor are elements too persuasive for me to simply not nominate him only because we disagree. Even though he is a brand new member, I can already see many substantive qualities about him that should surely benefit the forum.

I second the recommendation for Archer Opterix in another literary analogy.
Message 129
It is a fresh and eloquent answer to an all too frequent question.
And thanks to jar for his omnipresence and omniscience on EvC!

Thank You
Thank you to jar, angla and Archer. I seem to have missed the POTM when it was first proposed. I hope to be able to spend a bit more time on the boards, although how much is in question. We'll see if I can keep up with y'all's standards .

Phat on the grip of fear
In Message 6 Phat points to one of the major limits on belief, the fear of challenge.
I was scared to allow myself to look into other religions and beliefs. I was always taught that the educated human mindset of this world was of the devil and that human reasoning was incapable of even arriving at any sort of truth without the Holy Spirit empowering an individual from within.
And yet I allowed myself...hesitantly...to consider some of the things that you had thought about:
It was and still is scary to think for myself.
Yes, Phat, it is scary. And it takes courage to face ones fears.
May GOD watch over you as you face such challenges.
