The "Posts of the Month" forum index page.
These topics listed at the above page are still available for additions.----- Now for August 2004 (as per previous months):
quote: A link to the message, and perhap a SHORT comment would also be nice. But, this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic - so be nice. I think that a fairly liberal use of this topic would be a good thing for indexing some nice messages that are otherwise doomed to be lost in the clutter. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance, please give it a plug/reference in this topic. New month, same old message and routine,Adminnemooseus |

Forum: The Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy Thread: "The Exodus Revealed" Video II Post #: 144 Not really a debate statement, although my guess is that Lysimachus is a Ron Wyatt supporter. What Lysimachus did do, was to compile a large collection of links, both at and elsewhere, concerning Ron Wyatt. I didn't follow up on these links (pretty apathetic about RW), but I thought this message could be a valuable resource to those who are interested. I may be wrong in doing such, but here it is as a POTM nomination. Moose Please no replies to this message. The POTM is not a debate forum. {Edited to yet again change ID from the admin mode - Moose} This message has been edited by Adminnemooseus, 08-08-2004 01:01 AM

I'm not generally one to knock POM's, but this one has raised a question in my mind. I like the quote buz pulled out of it, but when I went to the post itself I didn't find the same quality. In fact, it looked more like a "wait till next year" message from one debater to another.
I'm wondering if Buz was more interested in the post or the quote within the post. It has oocured to me that I have seen statements that I thought were brilliant, but maybe the rest of the post was not really up to snuff. And that draws a line for me that some others may cross. Maybe it would be good to have an Excellent Quote thread so people can list those statements they think should get some notice, some greater immortality, even if the post within does not expand upon the quote? If Buz really liked the rest of that post, as living up to and addressing the quote, then I apologize. holmes "...what a fool believes he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away.."(D. Bros)

Percy summarizes the current point of the discussion covers it and points out, pithily, the contrast in positions.

Forum: Geology and the Great Flood Topic: Solving the Mystery of the Biblical Flood II Message #219 Again, Bill Berkland takes a step by step approach using extensive reference within peer reviewed literaure to construct a well thought out argument. Just the information on detecting local catastrophic flooding due to tsunamis and hurricanes is enough reason to read this post. Good work (as usual ).

Holmes, whether or not you or I like the context borders on debating your opinion about the topic and as Moose says, this is not the place for that. Let me remind you of Moose's instructions: ".....this is NOT a place to debate the referenced topic." Why can't we just state quotes we like without having to be criticized by our counterparts and counterparts of the honored poster as to topic context?
