Joseph vs. Judah (Why linage came through Judah) AND NOT Joseph

OK, recently a minister aked this topic question, I have read extensively on this subject, to no avail, and have NOT came up with a definiative answer. Could someone PLEASE help me here, I NEED A STRIGHT FORWARD answer, NOT a GUESS.I have read, or saw it before, BUT cannot find it now, There is an exact statement, SOMEWHERE, that says something like...
"Because of...... The linage of Christ went through Judah, and Not Joesph, for Joesph ...... .Know what I mean, Come on all ye scholars of the Lord, help me here. AND GOD BLESS AND KEEP!

Joseph was born in the cursed line of Jeconiah (Jeremiah 22:30) so the bloodline couldn't go through Joseph.Do you wish to discuss this?AdminBrian

Ok, I read the Jeremiah part, BUT here is the thing, why choose Judah, instead of Joesph?Because of...Because of...I know I'm not clear on this, but its really important to me, ANY backgrounf info Would suffice, especially scripture, thanks,Also, a discussion isn't relevent cause I did not have "extensive" knowlwdge of the bible.
