Speaking the day after he was elected as the 267th Pope and first US leader of the Church, he warned that people were turning away from faith and instead to "technology, money, success, power, or pleasure". quote:

I hope that he takes a firm stand against many of the same things you Democrats wanted to oppose. (I might listen to him better than I ever would have listened to Kamala.) If we can learn any lesson, people of all ideologies will listen to a Pope far better than a politician. Many of us rebel against a government with a mandate to spend our money as if it were itself a secular humanist organisation.
