Percy:
In my topic "Proof of God" the amount of rule snubbing while Admins are present stains the integrity of the Forum. If the situation in "Proof of God" was reversed the creo would of been promptly censored. Posts of disruption that claim facts while no evidence and source posted is rampant. What I say is not a matter of opinion, if it is denied then I know the EvC Forum is really saying "go somewhere else". Then there is the matter of creos like Ken Demeyer perpetually fastened with a ball and chain around their ankle in the form of banishment to FFA Forum. Why is Ken confined to one Forum with his "reply" function disabled ? Ken is a prolific asset to creo strength represented on this board, yet he is in a constant state of detention. Percy, please free Ken ! This is the internet - not North Korea. Whatever you decide (if anything) I support in advance, even if it adversely affects me. This is your house and I like it nonetheless. Thanks for your audience. sincerely, Willowtree

While in some ways I have more power and control than any of the other moderators, that's simply because I'm the site owner and the programmer. That doesn't, in my mind, make me king of the moderators. I'm afraid I cannot help Ken with AdminAsgara. My suggestion to Ken is that he take AdminAsgara up on her offers to engage in a dialogue.
I'm afraid all I can do to help with the PROOF OF GOD thread is suggest that participants try to stay focused on the technical details. It isn't unusual for it take a consideral time to resolve issues where so many numbers and ways of examining them are involved. Take it one small step at a time. Added by edit: One thing we've been missing for a while now is a Creationist moderator. We haven't had any since Tranquility Base and TrueCreation went civilian. Ideally there would be several Creationist moderators, but if we get one it's a start. Perhaps the Creationists here could make some nominations for the current moderator core to consider. I'd nominate Born2Preach. Although he accepts evolution, he is a committed Christian and he's very fair-minded, more so than most of us on either side.

Nothing against Born to Preach, but, Percy expressed desire for a creationist to be an Admin not another evo.
By defintion, a creationist is not an evolutionist, for purposes of this issue. Admin Truthlover already represents the evo/creo hybrid.

You are really conceding the fact that the current body of Admins cannot be any more objective, which means it is recognized that they are not as objective as they should be or a bone wouldn't need to be thrown to we creos.
Believe it or not I really like every Admin except for two, even though one of these two suddenly and surprisingly intervened in my behalf not too long ago. I nominate Ken Demeyer.

Perfect moderation is an ideal that can not actually be achieved. All we can do is a good as we can. An added complication is that most/all of the current admins are very busy in the "real world" right now. The load of potential admin work has increased, and the admins time to do it has decreased.
While the potential for AdminTC and AdminQuility was high, the reality was that they did little to nothing as admins. Rather than have token, do nothing creationist admins, they were removed from having active admin status. That status could easily be reinstated if either of them would choose to return to being active admins. But TrueCreation has been scarce, and Tranquility Base has dropped out completely. The reality is that being both a creationist member and creationist admin is a tough thing to pull off. I am very much interested in having Born2Preach and Mike the Wiz as moderators/admins. Some private discussion has happened in the past, but it has fallen by the wayside. If either of these people do wish to take part as moderators/admins, they should contact me at mnmoose@lakenet.com, or contact one of the other admins. Adminnemooseus

Percy said he wanted a creationist Admin - not another evo Admin.
It was also proposed that the creos pick and no one else. YOUR two choices are not pure creos, they are creo/evo hybrids. Nobody nominated you to decide for creos. I say whoever the evo Admins want then these are not the ones we creos want. You are engaging in the exact activity that necessitates the need for a creo Admin.

quote: Percy: I believe you recently asked Ken to contribute to the invitation only "Columnist Corner". This invitation and Ken's perpetual state of detention does not match. Next issue: The Forum guidelines/rules say bare assertions are invalid. "Proof of God" contains the most bare assertions in any topic without a doubt. Yet, no Admin will do a damn thing. This fact is a compliment to the evidence because to acknowledge the evidence and sources is to acknowledge the validity of the claims. IF God does not exist then the rule scoffing betrays the fears. I will now drop it. WT

WillowTree writes: I believe you recently asked Ken to contribute to the invitation only "Columnist Corner". This invitation and Ken's perpetual state of detention does not match. Hmmm. Not sure I see the connection myself. The criteria for columnists (write something interesting that will spark discussion) and the criteria for retaining access privileges (follow the guidelines and moderator requests) are not the same. The offer to Ken to write a column is still open. I'm sorry you're unhappy with the moderation in your PROOF OF GOD thread. When arguments aren't working, sometimes it helps to find better arguments, sometimes better arguers, sometimes both. And sometimes you just have to walk away.

quote: To all: I wish I could hang around here as much as I used to--I've spent so much of my time here in the past and have gained so much from it (I really can't even begin to emphasize how helpful evcforum has been in my, "walk with science" lets say). Unfortunately, I'm no longer the little 14 year old I was when I started participating extensively on evcforum. I will be 18 in 4 days and this fall I will be heading off to those lovely university years. I've also found out that there could potentially be some financial difficulties given the hefty price for university education, so I am now working as a professional web designer trying to get some cash for college. If anyone would like to donate to the "Chris needs money fund", I have paypal . Web design is a competitive business, but it is also potentially very lucrative if you are good. I would consider myself rather on the good side--and you don't get $35 - $40 an hour working at walmart . Also, if I reach a certain financial goal by the end of this summer, and I can be confident in an adequate influx of relatively steady income over the next few months to a year, I plan on proposing to my girlfriend--so wish me luck! Anyways, I still love science, and I am also still enamored with geology and geodynamics, especially in the context of EvC. And even if it appears that runaway subduction would release a ridiculous amount of heat, its still a topic I love to research and discuss . I've come from pouring Hovind's hogwash all over the boards to spearheading some descent and interesting topics of discussion, research initiatives, and topics based on my research. If I won the lottery, I would be here every day again, like good old times. But, quite frankly, I need money . I miss evcforum and all the people I've spent much of my time exchanging ideas with (yes, even you edge ). So check out my site and if you need someone with aesthetic expertise on and off the internet, lets talk . ..or is that my wishful thinking churning up again? ...C'mon, I'm not that bad... This is purely my opinion, and it is probably from my subjective doppelganger. One thing we've been missing for a while now is a Creationist moderator. Perhaps the Creationists here could make some nominations for the current moderator core to consider. It is hard for me to imagine a non-biased admin. It doesn't matter what the admin believes in (creation or evolutions) as long as he is being objective when evaluating someone's post. Unfortunately, the great majority of creationists here tend to fall back to their subjective side when debating about certain issues. Thus, I ask the question. Can I (or anyone) truly believe that a person whose belief system being purely subjective can be objective in when evaluating people's posts? The Laminator

mostly I don't think "evaluation" in a real detailed sense is required. Is it on topic is a common one?
If we really screwed down the rules much harder then the evaluation would get more difficult. We only occasionally really intervene (not often enough some might say).

Good luck TC. May life be all you expect. But promise us one very big thing. As you move on to the next step, stop in here at least once a quarter for an update. Afterall, we have a vested if virtual, interest in your future.

Oh dear, more whining from the creationist side.
There seems to be an extreme shortage of creationists who are coherent and rational, not paranoid and able to act evenhandedly, here and on other discussion boards. Fortunately non-creationists are able to perform such tasks. The irony of suggesting Kenny as a moderator is exquisite.

To all: I can highly recommend Chris's web design talents - he designed our logo!
To Chris: I guess one could say you're the second to graduate from EvC Forum and go on to college, Gene90 being the first. Best of luck at university! --Percy
