Forgive me if this question has been answered before.
One thing that has always puzzled me on this site are the coloured bars under the names of active topics. What do they stand for? What do the colours and lengths of the bars represent?

The Most Common Question
You don't have to apologize, lots and lots of posters ask that question.
There is a little AM in front of the bar. It stands for Activity Meter.
The colors indicate how many posts per hour are occurring. And the length gives a more detailed measure of that (actually I'm half guessing here. )

Re: The Most Common Question
So what does a long red bar mean?
what does a short green bar mean?

Re: The Most Common Question
remember I'm guessing and maybe misremembering:
The length of bar represents the posting rate over some time period. S
The bars are colored to represent classes of rates. "redder" is hotter so you'd expect a green bar to be shorter than a red bar everytime.

Activity level meter
It can be set to other values, but it is currently indicates the number of topic messages in the last 48 hours. The meter "pegs out" to the right at 50 messages in the last 48 hours.

Re: The Most Common Question
First, let me say that in the next release of dBoard (which I am again making rapid progress on, real work be damned, I think they're trying to suck me dry) the activity meter will be going away, replaced with a simpler indicator involving color only. The progression of colors from green to yellow to orange to red will indicate low to medium to high to very high activity levels. If there's an artist out there who would like to create helpful icons, such as a range of icons from candle to raging inferno, it would be much appreciated. Contact me at Admin for more detailed requirements.
Second, the information provided above about the activity meter is correct. Greener/shorter means low activity level, redder/longer means high activity level.

The color of the site is very good and attractive. I could see more interesting things in this site. It includes more informations. If it contains informations of world new that would be an added advantage.
