Since the thread this came up in has been closed and because it isn't worth the rigmarole of the current new topics rules I'm posting here.
Buzsaw - who insists that I should get rid of the ideathat he is a liar has decided that it is simpler to make false accusations of misrepresentation than admit that he has changed his mind.
Here is the text of the post that he claims "misrepresented" his views.
EvC Forum: Kent Hovind's debates, can someone help?
Racism was normal in the 19th Century. Darwin was no more racist then the majority of pwople of his culture and class.
However you have claimed that Darwin was an "ultra-racist" - something you supposedly learned from Hovind - and quoted Harrub's assertion that Darwin favoured extermination of "lesser" races.
Now has your position changed since you made the earlier assertions ?
Do you now believe that Hovind was wrong and that he misled you ?
Did Buzsaw state that Darwin was an ultra-racist - YES !

Those who despise Hovinds ideology naturally focus on what they consider to be the man's weak areas, throwing out the baby with the bathwater but those of us who aren't so biased against him are enlightened by him. For example, until his recent coverage of the "Origin of Species" and the ultra racist views of Darwin as well as the influence he had on the thinking of Hitler, I was unaware of all this.
That's just one example of a lot of enlightening stuff Hovind talks about. This is what I meant when I said that all can learn some while
being quite entertained.
Did Buzsaw quote from an essay by Bard Harrub accusing Darwin of favouring extermination of "lesser races" - YES !

EvC Forum: Racial Evolution 101Here's the quote from Harrub
At some future period not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilised races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes...will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest Allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilised state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as the baboon, instead of as now between the Negro or Australian and the gorilla (1874, p. 178).
While some have argued that Darwin was simply “predicting the future,”* the chapter on human races makes painfully clear his
beliefs on the subject.
It is quite clear that Harrub rejects the idea that Darwin's statement is simply a prediction (although it plainly is). And he has no need to raise the question if all he wanted to do is to say that Darwin thought that "the Negro or Australian" were inferior to Caucasians. That is quite clearly there - whether it is a prediction or not. No, the only reason to deny that it was a prediction is to assert that Darwin advocated extermination.
So I have not misrepresented Buzsaw. He explicitly made the claim that Darwin was an "ultra-racist" and he did quote Harrub's essay. The proof is there.
So Buz if you WANT to claim "persistent misrepresentation" on my part how many cases can you DOCUMENT ? Not cases where you have falsely accused me of misrepresentation - but cases where you can actually SHOW misrepresentation. Can you even manage ONE ?
And if you really want me to stop thinking of you as a liar it would be a good idea to stop lying.
