I was reading through some posts about evolutionary stuff. Some of the material reminded me of something some fundies claimed a very long time ago on here. I vaguely remembered it somewhere along the line of 'god put animal of the future as imprints into rocks as something blah blah blah so that they may arise in the future... they're not really extinct animal... we will have dinosaurs in the future because there are lots of "fossils" for them..."
Anyone else remember this? I can't remember which fundie made this claim. Even better, can someone give me a link to something like this? I can't seem to find it.

Bizzare
There seems to be no end to it. I'd be more inclined to think you dreamed this if I hadn't been watching whatever make stuff up that is only slightly less bizzare.

I vaguely remember that this person claimed that species do go extinct and are replaced by new ones. The difference between that and evolution is that the new species are the ones we find in fossils. God, supposedly, imprinted the species of the future into rocks and "fools" like scientists mistake them as fossilized organisms of the past.
Again, this isn't mainstream creationism. I vaguely remember that this person was proposing this very interesting hypothesis on here but I can't remember what or who or when.

Oh well, I was hoping that someone on here would remember this to confirm my memory, which is probably not very reliable in this case. Perhaps I just dreamt the whole thing up. If noone else remembers this, then I guess we can conclude that it was my imagination.

I remember a while back there was a thread here in which someone suggested to the evos that they try to argue the opposite side of the debate. Someone posted an idea in that thread that fossil animals were just waiting to arise in the future. I don't think anyone actually subscribed to that theory but its an interesting change from the mainstream creationism we hear about often.
