Hi all,
Just wondering what browsers you guys and gals are using. I've recently had problems with IE6 being veeerrryyy slow, and have finally got around to trying Mozilla's Firefox, which I am very impressed with; it is fast and intuitive. I've found a few issues with javascript not doing what I would expect (on some pages I've made), but this may be due to my own amateurist attempts at scripting, though they work fine in IE! I will admit that I've always found Internet 'Exploder' a satisfactory solution over the years, however, whenever I check out other browsers, it is apparent the there are many desirable features that are missing... If only there were a browser that really did cover everything out there... Opinions??? Cheers.

I'm rockin' Firefox, as well. It's superfast, and has tabbed browsing. Though I mostly used that on the Mac; here on my PC, the taskbar serves the same function.
But, yeah. I got tired of IE installing spyware without asking me.

Yep, been using Firefox for several months now. Love it. Took a bit of getting used to (like a day) and haven't looked back since.

Firefox is easy to install and works far better than IE. You do need to keep IE available because there are a few (very few) sites that specifically look for IE before allowing downloads.

I'm using an older version of Mozilla. Apparently version 1.6 (or mayber revision 1.6 of version 5.0).
You think it will bring along the old bookmarks etc., if I upgrade to Firefox? You still need Internet Explorer, to get Windows updates. The question is, are those updated just fixes for Internet Explorer? Moosezilla This message has been edited by minnemooseus, 10-27-2004 12:19 AM

Yes it will bring along bookmarks.
Windows updates are simply for windows and IE. Firefox has had a few security updates but not anywhere like IE. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

No obvious differences between it and my previous version of Mozilla. Things just laid out a little different.
One thing I did notice, is that Firefox does not have the "Window" feature in the topbar. The previous version did, and that was where I go to get to Composer. Anyhow, the old version is also still on the computer. How do you track and get the Firefox security etc. updates? I presume they don't send you notices like Microsoft does for Windows/IE. Well, gotta go do some real work elsewhere. Moose

In the upper left you should see Mozilla Firebird Help.
In addition you can go into Tools ----> Options ----> Software Updates and check the boxes to get it to check for updates regularly. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

another thing to consider is spyware: pieces of software downloaded with adds that then collects data on your usage and sends it back to their databanks. they keep piling up and take cpu time.
try Ad-Aware Adaware: The Best FREE Antivirus & ad blockor SpywareBblaster BrightFort I use both (they work differently) when I first installed Ad-Aware there were over 200 spywares on my machine we are limited in our ability to understand by our ability to understand RebelAAmerican.Zen[Deist
