Heh. I was up to 48. But then I got greedy and went for the record. In no time I was back down to 42. By the time I got to 1000 grains I made it back up to 44.

Very rough experiment: about 80 grains in a quarter teaspoon, 320 in a teaspoon, thirty-two teaspoons in a cup --> around 10,000 grains per cup.Doesn't sound like much, does it?

That works out well. The site claimed when they reached the first billion grains that it fed 50,000 people for one day. Working backwards that would mean about two cups of rice per person.But it also gives us an idea of what some folk in the world face in terms of hunger.Please consider what living on two cups of rice a day means.
