In reading these and other forums, I have been amused to see the emergence of some quite definite styles among posters.
A few styles I have seen are:
a) rational and dispassionate
b) rational and passionate
c) highly decorated: lots of ten-dollar words and often sprinkled with malapropisms
d) snide and aggressive, often stubborn
e) disorganized and hard to understand, often lacking punctuation
I am tempted to conclude that the styles correlate with the posters' views, but I would like others' opinions on that.
Would anyone like to add to the list?
to admins: I'm not sure where this should go. Maybe Coffee Shop?

My brain registers a high level of incongruity when reading many of the posts from the anticapitalists. My instincts tell me I'm reading something from a child, but in the case of many such messages the content says otherwise.
And so here's a toast to those among us who eschew the largest keys on the keyboard in order to hold true to their ethos that no more than one key should ever be pushed at the same time (Lord help them if they ever need to reboot ).

that's not true, i had to hit "ctrl" and "c" to copy the above statement, and "ctrl" and "v" to paste it. i also had to "shift" a number of times now to type all those quotes. i also hit "shift" and "ctrl" and an arrow key or two all at once to highlight some things as i was typing, in order to select them for deletion, due to typographical errors. i also have to hit "shift" a few times every time i insert an html tag, though i admit i wouldn't have to if i used dbcodes instead.
i just type this way because it's faster for me, and you get in certain habits like that on the internet. especially if you're on aim all day. perhaps it's a mistake, and i should slow down a bit, as my posts are often filled with typos. but then again, so are my papers (which DO use proper capitalization, i swear), often more so. what seems to be causing my typos is that my brain fires things off very fast, often faster than i can type, and so i miss words and conjugations and plural endings and such.

I'm mildly dyslexic and grossly attention-deficient. Fortunately, I'm also obsessive-compulsive, so I edit every post forty times. If there are forty-one typos, one of them might get through.
I like the variety of writing styles that we have here, sometimes reflecting our variety of (dis)abilities.
So keep your hands where I can see 'em - away from that Shift key.

Could I add 'devotional literature' to your suggestive list of styles?
