The only advantage that self-professed elitists have . . .

we hear about Trump supporters who are expressing utter confusion and despair after voting "against Obamacare" in the hopes that Trump would still keep the Affordable Care Act-that they rely on-and then discovering that Obamacare IS the ACA.
Floridians who deny climate change and vote "drill, drill, drill" as their uninsured house floats away from repeated stormS of the centuries.
Women who willfully give up their bodily rights to government officials with felony sexual convictions.
Many of these people have advanced degrees. Yet make no mistake, the people who voted for the former president are profoundly, and irretrievably, dumb people.

Re: a nitpick
Western new yorker here. I visit Canada often (Niagara Falls, St Catherines, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Hamilton, Toronto). Great hiking, stores, art/theater, and people.
Last week, when going into shops, we groveled incessantly how embarrassed and sorry we are that so many americans are angry and mentally-retarded.
Keep in mind, the americans have already invaded Canada in the 1800s. They remember, nearly all americans don't.
And so far, in return, the Canadians have been deeply understanding and generous in their forgiveness.
So far.
We tell them, instead of Canada becoming the US' 51 state, can New York state become Canada's eleventh province. PLEEEASE!

Didn't know about the Fenian Raids. Definitely wasn't taught in my school.
Thanks for the write-up, appreciate the effort.

The president is using a false emergency that fetanyl is poring in from canada to: 1 manipulate the markets for profit, 2 to take revenge against an attractive Justin Trudeau, and 3 destabilize the USA so entire government can be destroyed and then rebuilt to his specs (project 2025)
___
Without actual emergencies, the president is not allowed to levy tariffs, only congress can.
Last night, a majority of senators with a few republicans voted against canadian tariffs because of the specific harm of the canadian tariffs to their states. Unfortunately, it is currently doubtful the House of Representatives will also support this measure.
I am not aware of any other specific emergencies the president would have to invent to create tariffs against other countries (. . . but god knows Heard and McDonald Islands have had it coming for many years).
It truly must take a cowardly cult for the majority of congress to give up their responsibilities/rights/power so easily.

go ahead, try to enforce it . . .
quote:
Governor Newsom reportedly negotiating with foreign countries to bypass Trump tariffs.
California to Negotiate Trade With Other Countries to Bypass Trump Tariffs
Interesting article, it reads, . . . only congress can make non-emergency tariffs. Since the president's tariffs are not based on emergencies, they should not be implemented.
Therefore, California as well as every other state, should legally disregard the tariffs.
Let the prez bring the matter to the supreme court, if the supreme court wants to rule with the prez, let the supreme court own this economic disaster.
I do not think we should obey any prez brain-fart prematurely. At the least, slow-roll EVERYthing through the courts.
