FYI, I dont want the sky to fall any more than you do. One thing positive that I can say about progressive democrats(based on observations here at EvC) is that you are more patriotic than are the MAGA group. Except for the Christians. And of course we all know that they are unrealistic loons.
Can you explain specifically what U.S. policy you are referring to by "weaponizing the dollar?"
Sanctions. That, and Janet Yellin globetrotting around the planet warning even China about possible sanctions. We are losing the economic war. The Patriots just dont see it yet.
And just what specifically is BRICS doing to "gear up" and just what exactly are they planning to do that Russia could never do?
Unite. It may well be a loose alliance at this point, but the plan is to free themselves from the US Dollar. That is why I said that we shot the dollar in the head and "it" is still bleeding.
And just exactly when did they start sharing their world domination plans with you?

Re: NAFTA li Bennett confirms Boris Johnson interference caused Ukraine to reject peace
Here was the first hit on google.
Just a moment...
quote:
On Saturday, 4 February, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett sat down with journalist Hanoch Daum to give his first in-depth interview since leaving office in June 2022. The nearly five-hour-long discussion was posted on his personal YouTube channel. Despite not amassing an outstandingly large number of views, the video contains some shocking statements by the former Israeli head of government in relation to the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war.
Bennett claims that he was set to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine but his efforts were stopped by the major Western powers.
According to the former PM, negotiations about this potential peace agreement started as early as 7 March 2022, merely weeks after the invasion began on 21 February. Bennett travelled to Moscow in early March to meet with President Vladimir Putin. He was in constant communication with then-British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and US President Joe Biden to take coordinate on how to navigate talks about the possible ceasefire.
Still according to Bennett, PM Johnson was the most adamant about taking aggressive action against Putin. Scholz and Macron were exploring more pragmatic options, while Biden was in support of both approaches. The talks between the two belligerent sides seemed to be making some headway, with both parties making concessions. Putin vowed not to have Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy killed and to not demand disarmament from Ukraine; Zelenskyy agreed to not pursue NATO membership for his country, which was Putin’s primary contention.
At the same time, Russian and Ukrainian officials were engaging in a negotiation of their own in Gomel, Belarus. So, there seemed to be a very real chance for making peace in Eastern Europe again. However, the major Western NATO powers ultimately decided to end negotiations
because they ‘decided it was necessary to continue to smash Putin’,
as the former Israeli Prime Minister put it in his explosive interview. In light of the suffering and loss of human lives that have since ensued in the war, this is hard to understate.
You can watch Naftali Bennett’s interview in its entirety below, with English close captions available. The discussion about the war and his role as a mediator starts at the two hour 33 minute mark.

that we learn how close Naftali Bennett and Boris Johnson came to brokering a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine. The talks, which took place behind closed doors, were a last-ditch effort to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict that had already claimed thousands of lives.
According to sources close to the negotiations, the two leaders were on the verge of reaching a breakthrough when time ran out. The deal would have involved a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, and a commitment to future negotiations on the status of Crimea.
While the talks ultimately fell short, they serve as a reminder of the power of diplomacy in resolving conflicts. As tensions continue to rise in Ukraine and around the world, it is important for leaders to continue engaging in dialogue and seeking peaceful solutions to prevent further bloodshed.
The lessons learned from the Bennett-Johnson talks will undoubtedly shape future negotiations and help guide leaders in their efforts to bring about lasting peace in conflict zones worldwide.

OK, well, sanctions don't seem to have any impact on Russian or Chinese behavior that I can see.
What specific signs show we are losing an economic war?
You seem to ignore that global trade is a chaotic/dynamic system with hundreds of nations and tens of thousands of corporations engaged in millions of negotiations and that none of those entities want the U.S. to stop buying their stuff.
Unite. It may well be a loose alliance at this point, but the plan is to free themselves from the US Dollar. That is why I said that we shot the dollar in the head and "it" is still bleeding.
Sorry, I don't see how we shot the dollar in the head and I see no signs that of the damage you refer to.
In what specific way is the U.S. damaged if some nations don't want to use the dollar. If they want to stop trading with the U.S. that will damage their economy far more than ours.
What possible benefits does the BRICS Consortium offer that exceed continuing to use the U.S. dollar for trade?
It does not take a rocket scientist...wake up and connect the data.
Rocket scientists are not economists so they have no relevance to the discussion, and your dots are not connected to any actual data that you have shown us.

I doubt that anyone is losing sleep over your worries.
I wish I could have gone on your ecliptic road trip! It sounded like fun.
It has been fun! We visited White Sands National Park yesterday with our grandson and his family and laughed at attempts to get our 10 month old great-grandson to keep his sunglasses on even though his eyes were shut tight against the glare without them.
Trying to get through metropolitan cities on the freeways was absolutely nightmarish, with Kansas City taking the grand prize for the most fucking scariest freeway experience of the whole trip...so far! Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument is the next place we are headed on Tuesday and then booking it for home, since I have a photo deadline coming up on April 30.

The Guardian
quote:
Putin promised me he would not kill Zelenskiy, says former Israeli PM | Ukraine | The Guardian
According to Bennett, during his mediation efforts Zelenskiy agreed to give up the idea that Ukraine would join Nato, and Putin dropped a vow to seek Ukraine’s disarmament in order to end the war. “Everything I did was coordinated with the US, Germany and France,” he said.
Ultimately the Israeli leader’s efforts did little to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, where the war is now approaching its first anniversary. He is now a private citizen, having stepped away from politics before November’s election, but his comments shed light on early backchannel efforts to de-escalate the situation.
Bennett – a prime minister largely untested on the international stage and whose government lasted just a year before collapsing in June 2022 – became an unlikely mediator at the beginning of the conflict. He was the first western-aligned leader to meet Putin in Moscow, seeking to balance Israel’s need for Russian cooperation for its military operations in Syria while mediating on behalf of western allies.

Naftali Bennett: A better leader than Netenyahu?
I followed your link and began finding more comments from Bennett online.
He claims that Hamas is as bad as Nazis. He defends Israel yet he seeks peace at every opportunity.
Bennett fights Journalists who are anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian
The current unity government had a brief mandate to attempt to eliminate Hamas. Many Palestinians were killed in the process, which is unfortunate. Hamas was warned aginst using human shields yet did so. Their ideology blinds them. One accusation by US Progressives is that Israel is the bad guy. My only comment is that a story has at least two and likely more sides. Who are the fascists? Did Ike warn us about them many years ago? I am not saying that Israel is right and Palestine is wrong. I am saying that Palestine blew it by allowing Hamas to govern them.

oops. I replied to a post directed at LNA.
You will agree though, that the world has conservatives and liberals and that no one side should dominate. Surely.
