Re: DC jury has ordered Rudy Giuliani to pay $148 million to two Georgia election
Rudy has nowhere near that amount of money, but I hope Ruby Freeman and her daughter eventually get a couple million or so. Rudy says he'll appeal, and whatever the eventual award, they'll probably have to stand in line with other creditors.

Yep, I don't expect them to get a cent from Rudy, but the rest of that fucking scumbag's life is a disaster of his own making and I find joy in his pain! History is recording has scumbag criminal behavior and that will be his legacy and he knows it, karma!

Rudy will turn 80 years old next year, still spending all his time working to dig himself out of debt, meeting with lawyers, and attending his trials in courtrooms. Karma indeed.

Rudy Giuliani Declares Bankruptcy
The news is reporting that Rudy Giuliani has declared Bankruptcy, e.g., Rudy Giuliani declares bankruptcy | CNN Politics:
quote:
According to the filing, Giuliani listed debts between $100 million and $500 million, and assets worth up to $10 million.
The bankruptcy declaration is another setback for the former New York City mayor, federal prosecutor and one-time front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, all stemming from his time as Donald Trump’s attorney after the 2020 presidential election.
I wonder if Giuliani filled out the paperwork himself, because the filing has an obvious error reminiscent of the sloppy work we saw during his efforts to overturn the 2020 election in favor of Donald Trump. The filing lists debts between $100 million and $500 million, but that's obviously wrong because the two Georgia election workers were awarded $148 million, much more than the lower number. His minimum debt has to be $148 million, not $100 million.
Alex Jones was unable to use bankruptcy to escape the financial award in the Sandy Hook defamation case, and similarly Giuliani is unlikely to succeed in escaping the award to the election workers, because he admitted that he defamed them with malice. But the bankruptcy filing does halt all efforts to collect monies from Giuliani for now.

Re: Rudy Giuliani Declares Bankruptcy
Giuliani is unlikely to succeed in escaping the award to the election workers, because he admitted that he defamed them with malice.
Plus he defamed them multiple times right outside the courthouse on multiple days. I really hope they get a substantial amount, so they can repair some of the actual substantial damage he caused in their lives. I fear they will not see any of his money before he is dead. There is some satisfaction in knowing that he knows how history will remember him, as a corrupt scumbag criminal!

The filing lists debts between $100 million and $500 million,
it's probably just a checkbox on a form that gives a range of debt. They're not looking for a number down to the penny.

And he continued to defame them after the award, so they are suing him again.
Just as with the first lawsuit, this second lawsuit is a civil case, so again the penalty is money and not jail time, but substantial monies were already been awarded in the first case. I wonder if this one could somehow find it's way around to contempt of court where Giuliani would spend some time in jail. That outcome would have a built in advantage for Giuliana since he'd already be in Georgia when the Rico case begins and wouldn't have to travel.

Trump Support Tends Toward the Violent and Undemocratic
Researchers who follow such things say that online violent rhetoric is up after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Donald Trump cannot be on the Republican primary ballot in that state (Colorado Trump ruling leads to rise in violent online rhetoric : NPR). The personal information of members of the Colorado Supreme Court have been posted.
Apparently each development seen as negative or detrimental for Trump results in an uptick of such rhetoric. The most extreme posts have been on Gab, Truth Social and Patriots.win, but some have been on X.

And you're surprised? Do you believe this action by those 4 unelected judges is a victory for democracy? Is the term "democracy" being re-defined?

We do not live in a democracy. We live in a republic where the rule of law dominates not the rule of emotions. You won't acknowledge the difference since you are a brown-shirt wannabe in the Trump drive to dictatorship devoid of any law but his own.

Yes, they are very complex, and I understand how tyrants can twist and distort them to destroy democracy. Do you understand what democracy is?

The left wing media lies, often by omission. There's a lot going on that too many people don't know about.
