Why 1/4 DNA? You are talking DNA? It is ALL DNA: junk + functional.

My new topic proposal is a model for point mutations in neutral DNA, where mutations do not give benefit or disadvantage to the individual. What conclusions do you draw from this data?Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

Science is too puny and shallow to even detect Satan's existence. That is my fault. As we know the human mind is so powerful we can vanquish any gods and their minions to oblivion with a simple thought. I did that to your god ages ago and your satan disappeared along with him. Poof! Science cannot find something that isn't there. All science can do now is note the lack of evidence and conclude that your god and his satan are nowhere to be found and, infact, never were. I know, I took away your pet demon and eating all your jesus-meat crackers hasn't brought him back to you. I realize this makes you sad and lonely. Such is the religious life devoid of reality. That was your choice.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

You're an anti-science religious cannibal and Taq was being considerate to you in using the popular vernacular version of 'prove'. He was trying to not confuse you with the bigger concepts that would hurt your brain, like 'preponderance of evidence'. But, yes, at the philosophical heart of science we know we prove nothing. That's the fun. There is always more data to collect, analyze and confound the creationists.

Not very convincing. Well, not to you, but you didn't understand the reason for the gap to begin with. You think it is some majik boundary evolution cannot cross. From simple minds comes simple foolishness.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

If you came face-to-face with Thor, the hammer-wielding god of the Norsemen, do you think you could vanquish him? He's a tough bugger, that Thor. Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt. As a lad, after unceremoniously tossing him aside, I took Thor's place in my own fantasies. Had a great time being a god until I vanquished my own godhood to the void. No big deal, Dredge. You can do it too but you have to first stop eating those crackers.

I keep telling you, Dredge. You have to stop eating those crackers. Let your brain get right with reality for a while and when YHWH lets go you can vanquish him then go after Thor. Easy. You can do it.

... I don't look at the fossil record in terms of evolutionary ancestors. So you don't look to evidence to see what is there but to find fodder for your beliefs? No, you just ignore evidence of any kind and only see the inside of your blindfold. Expected.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

Fossils can't tell us what happened or confirm any theory about what happened ... BS. They have and they did. This is a magic your gods have yet to master. Humans can see clearly into the past, manipulate the present and foretell the future. Your god is puny in comparison.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

Are you 5 years old? Tragically, his problems are much worse. He eats stale crackers with 2000 year-old jesus meat. His mind is lost to reality.Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!

I don't think Cambrian explosion is a body plan or a novel organ. It's a time period that lasted some 30 million years.

So it turns out that we actually don't. Don't you think that 40-50% of your genome shared with onion qualifies as "that we have so much of our DNA in common with different species"? Half seems rather substantial unless you are trying to force a specific conclusion from loose syntax. "that we have so much of our DNA in common with different species" seems to indicate we are talking about more than one gene. I would suggest half your genome is a rather large and significant portion to share with other organisms. So it turns out, yes, we do in fact share significant portions of our genome with plants and such strongly evidencing common ancestry quite pointedly. [abe] Have a look at the genes we share in the onion genome. What do those genes do? Why are they the same genes we share with not just onion but most of multi-cellular life? Common ancestry through evolution provides and clear answer as to why. Edited by AZPaul3, . Edited by AZPaul3, . Stop Tzar Vladimir the Condemned!
