Im not sure I agree with your attempt to frame the argument. I'm taking that as your way of conceding that you don't have a good answer.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

TE's dismiss the first eleven chapters of Genesis. No, they don't. They take those chapters as theological but not historical.
Do TE's think that Jesus and the Apostles were lying, or making stuff up. Why do you assume that Jesus and the apostles were mindless mechanical robots? Why not assume that they were fully human, and made allusions to well known stories just as humans do today?Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

However, they were filled with God's Holy Spirit. And they lived with Jesus for over three years. You seem to be suggesting that being filled with "God's Holy Spirit" turns people into mindless robotic zombies. Here's the real point. You are trying to argue that what they said shows that Adam and Eve were real people. It doesn't. People often talk about fictional characters without mentioning that they are fictional. Such talk is not evidence that Adam and Eve were real people. It is only evidence that their story was well known. There are many Christians, not just TEs, who take the early part of Genesis to be allegorical. That's a well respected view within Christianity. The Holy Bible, as well as Jesus, says they were real. False. That's an interpretation that you are reading into it.Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity

I perused the comments from some who have read the book over at Goodreads. I can see why you and Theo would enjoy such a book. It pokes fun at human attempts to mae everything "official" all for the Great Power in which they reside. I might actually read the book if I get time, but its no authoritative History Book except to reinforce one of your entrenched beliefs that humans created religion. You mentioned "1066" which is a memorable date for those who have studied British history. It was the date of the battle of Hastings. The book you refer to, "1066 and all that" is a humor book. It is not intended as history. Growing up in Australia, we were soaked in British history, and "1066 and all that" was a lot of fun. The book is not about whether humans created religion. It's about making fun of history. Maybe I should make it clear that this was not a history book used in school. It was a humor book that I read after graduating. However, there is a book which convinced me that humans created religion. That book goes by the title "The Holy Bible".--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity --> -->

Does that lie of his Christ status make a diference to yopu? It doesn't matter to me. But perhaps it matters to Phat.--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity --> -->

Yet without Jesus, there would be no Christianity. As ringo frequently reminds you, it seems that you manage to be a Christian without Jesus.--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity --> -->

nwr, what Ringo thinks about the factuality of Jesus' existence carries no weight. You missed the point. I wasn't talking about the existence of Jesus. Rather, it was about Phat not doing what Jesus taught.--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity --> -->

Democrats say it is perfectly acceptable for a woman to murder her own baby. Bullshit.
Democrats say it is perfectly acceptable for a man to turn into to a woman and for a woman to turn into a man. More bullshit. Many Democrats are critical of what trans activists are pushing.--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity --> -->

The Democrats also support murder of their own children. That still more bullshit.
I will never vote for a candidate or a party that supports an agenda that is contrary to God. Whenever you vote Republican, you do just that.
Did you support the Black national anthem at the Super Bowl. I paid no attention to the Super Bowl.--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity --> -->

Your holy book says something about bearing false witness. Yet here you are violating that commandment by spreading malicious lies.

It has not been shown that he ever visited Connecticut before running for president. He studied at Yale University, which is in Connecticut. Where do you get your misinformation?--> -->Fundamentalism - the anti-American, anti-Christian branch of American Christianity <-- <--

Thankfully, the Church hierarchy has also developed a prejudice against queers - my understanding is that homosexuals are now barred from becoming priests and religious ("holy orders").
